The Lady Macdonald offers some great rooms with incredible views of the mountains that rise over Canmore. Peter, the host, was very nice and if we had more time to explore Canmore and the incredible mountains in the area, I am sure he would have given us great recommendations. we had a great room looking out towards Mount Rundle and Mount Cassi and enjoyed watching the sunrise cast some alpenglow on those mountains in the morning. the breakfast was excellent and the B&B is also conveniently.
所有评语 » We loved staying at the Lady MacDonald! I travel every week and this was a refreshing break from a hotel room. It was cozy, inviting and felt like home. The breakfasts were amazing and the baked goods provided during the evening were fabulous. Sitting in the common room with a good book, a cup of herbal tea and a piece of cake or cookie was everything a hotel room is not. Thanks Peter and Tammy for a great stay!. It was like staying at my grandparents home. Very cozy. Close to everything. The bed was a comfy king size and the room was large enough to get around in. The breakfasst served between 8 am and 9:30 am was very tasty and presentation was good. Our hosts were very gracious and accommodating. Breakfasts were delicious as were afternoon snacks. Good location - easy access to everything. Walk to downtown. Room was comfortable and clean. The Lady MacDonald is a beautiful B & B. Our room was well appointed and the breakfast was delicious. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this B & B. The atmosphere! Sooo relaxing. The Chinook Room was perfect, a wonderful surprise and absolutely loved it. Home made Jam-Jams! YUM! The breakky ohhhh soooo good!. Rustic beauty, very relaxing and welcoming environment. We really enjoyed our stay and would go again. The home cooked breakfast each morning was a highlight. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Truly wonderful owner / staff. They work hard to make your stay pleasant and for you to feel welcome in their home. The King Suite is spectacular. 270 degrees of mountain view. The short cut to town is really handy. The host and his breakfasts were both sensational. The host, Peter, was exceptionally hospitable, informative and genuinely kind. The bedroom was immaculate, the breakfast terrific!. All round quality with friendly staff. Although located closer to the highway side the sound of the trains was relentless. You know this is going to be a problem when you see the container of earplugs on the night stand. Yes we slept but it was not a sound sleep. Building exterior could use some TLC, but didn't affect our stay. Unfortunately, we were stranded in Canmore for 4 days due to the flooding. We tried to return to the Lady MacDonald, but their property was completely surrounded by water with vehicles submerged up to the door handles. We had to stay at an alternate hotel, waiting for the highway to open. Our hearts go out to the familys' that were so sadly affected by the flooding, and hope that the B & B did not suffer too much damage. We couldn't stay longer!. I was perfectly satisfied. Not having booked a longer stay. Proximity to train track. Everything was perfect!. We were surprised that there was no air conditioning in the room, although they did give us a large fan. With the window open the train was noisier. Tv in room was hard to watch because it was to low. Noise from the railway. But still acceptable. Perhaps they could install double glazed windows in order to reduce the noise. The noisy room, got very little sleep as it sounded like a train running right outside our window, not sure what it was, ear plugs did not even help. We didn't have one of their nicer rooms but we did book late. Wi fi was unreliable . Train noise!!!!. Bed was a bit hot. Location: Inn is situated between the busy Trans-Canada highway and a well-used railway line. This detail should be available before booking. In a double-occupancy room, 2 pairs of earplugs should be supplied - not just one pair. The hotel is separated from the town by a busy road and railway line. The train noise, the traffic noise,the beds, so uncomfortable , feet and head higher than the rest of our person, noisy people in the parlour area early hours of the morning.
