  The hotel is beautiful - the rooms are very very nice - very attractively furnished with old furniture and lots of artwork everywhere. The staff are the best I have ever encountered - spoke good English and were incredibly helpful, efficient and friendly. The breakfasts are served in the room at the time you ask.   The staff was very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. As dated as the decor was it was nice to have a spa bath and a sauna in the room. This was the only hotel found under 100.00 usd. It was a old love hotel, and being remodeled now. Rooms are so tiny you cannot pass your partner standing, one person has to sit on the bed.   Ok, this is not a five-star hotel, but they don't charge a five-star price either. My opinion is, you get exactly what you pay for. It's in Lapa, this means it probably used to be in a slum. It is not in a slum now. It is 50 meters from Selaron staircase, a famous landmark. It is a vibrant neighborhood, so maybe it's not ok for children -- I would... 别人怎么说 » n't know. We're a reasonably young couple, and for us it was just perfect. Stuff are very helpful, they do speak English (I was prepared to resort to - Good location in Lapa, not far away from the Arcos da Lapa or Cinelandia station. A rather tidy room. Good views from the windows.

  Ok prices though it was carnival time. Staff was helpful and friendly, couple of spoke english which was good thing.
