Very impressed that the room was ready for us even though we booked the
night before. We were travelling from la and even though we got there
late, and the office was closed, there were very clear instructions
waiting for me on their door, along with a set of keys in a lock box.

This hotel was fantastic, a true gem. The staff go beyond the call of duty and take pride in remembering all their visitors. The price was a screaming deal, the location is ideal - rental car recommended but everything is close by. I liked that it was walking distance to the historic old town. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast included waffles, boiled eggs, variety of cereals, hot cooked oatmeal (not the packaged stuff), fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries and toast. The rooms come with DVD players and they offer a wide selection of movies free of charge. There is also local transit (bus) station very close to the hotel.

For the amount we paid we were very pleased. Walking distance to the
beach and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable! When I read the
description of the room it didn't say there was a fridge, microwave
or coffee maker...when we walked in the room there was a full kitchen!
The staff was always walking around and cleaning up even late at night.
One staff member saw us up late and alerted us he had a parking spot
open up front so we got to move our car closer.

Very good value for the money, with simple breakfast provided (including waffles!). No elevator to second floor and no whirlpool at the small swimming pool. Just across the street from historic Old Town with shopping, restaurants and museums. Nice 20 minute walk or jog up Presidio Hill, also basketball court, are across the street also.
