  Loved our stay. We live only about 30 mins. north of San Diego and try to stay at the West Gate at least twice a year. It is like being on a vacation even though we are residents.   I loved the room I had. It was the "04" room. It was my second time staying at this hotel. Both times I was lucky enough to be in the same room layout. As I walked down the hall toward my room this time I was trying to not hope that it was the same room so that I wouldn't be disappointed. Wow, was I happy. The trolley is just out the door, and they are many shops and restaurants very close by. The staff was great. The room rate ($129) was exceptional, but probably not near the standard rate.   This was by far the best hotel we have found in San Diego. Luxury for a very reasonable price! Impressive from the moment you see it from a distance, impressive parking, impressive, AMAZING lobby, amazing guest service, amazing everything. The room we chose was a corner King suite... Everything was perfectly clean and fresh in the bathroom. Downstairs, we chose to eat at t - Everything! I was blown away with the beauty of the lobby! The staff was wonderful, our room was fantastic, (corner king), the food was good (pulled pork was best I've had in ages!), and the views were gorgeous. I loved how close it was to so many areas of SD. The pool area (with the firepits at night!) looked wonderful, but it was so windy so we didn't stay. I also loved the old pictures throughout the hotel. If you are from SD it was particularly super to see them.

  The location is perfect! San Diego in itself is great but the Inn being on Shutter Island compared to downtown sd was better than expected. From now on, I'd rather visit humphrey's again and skip the major hotels in the city. The location also makes it perfect for activities. Luckily they had a few rooms available as it was mid-week. We had our hearts set on staying there as we loved it the year prior. The front desk says this happens ALL THE TIME WITH letsbookhotel.com..   Very clean and well maintained room and hotel grounds. Loved free WiFi and Internet access. Loved free parking, free bicycle loaners, two pools/saunas. Playground across the street. Lots of markets, coffee shops and misc. Stores nearby, very convenient. The staff was 100% awesome! The views spectacular and the surrounding area felt very safe. Loved the location of the hotel, and the overall comf - Great location for sea world visit. There was a problem at our initial check in which wasn't good. For me this is when a hotels reputation stands or falls in how they go about resolving problems. Staff were a credit to the company and I would def recommend to others Thank you
