  If you like a historic, vintage kind of place the Menger Hotel is just that. Has a lot o tradition and is very comfortable. Nice room - a little pricey due to the valet parking, but this is a downtown touristic city and no parking. Like the proximity to the shopping mall and Riverwalk. Very comfortable. As such, it has charm, character, elegance and comfort but do not expect modern amenities. For example, the older wing has only one small elevator.   The hotel room was very well appointed with a comfortable bed and a very big flat-screen television and sitting area. The breakfast (included in the nightly rate) was great and provided a variety of hot and cold items.   Every one there was extremely nice and helpful. The beds were super comfortable and clean.perfect location when going any where,like places to eat, shopping, sight seeing, all close enough and not too far. Also my room (880) was next to a suite of an old time favorite actor John Wayne. A lot of famous people stayed there.   Loved the rooms, the attention to detail on how everything is kept so clean. Loved the location in reference to walking distance to Main Riverwalk & The Alamo. She has a very pretty attitude, very positive and she really made our stay special. She was wearing an aqua color shirt on that Friday that we went. Then she was there Saturday morning. Then I didn't see her when we checked out. I wanted to thank her for her beautiful personality.

The trip/stay was 5 minutes away from my Dr. The hotel was necessary for eye surgery operation. I had my mother, daughter, & my 9 month old grand daughter stay in the room w/ me. The room was very spacious, and access to the outside was very convenient,(I had a small service dog with me). I would highly recommend, and will be staying there again for 2nd eye surgery the end of April.

  Nice decor. I liked that an old building had been converted into a hotel. Old charm mixed with contemporary decor. I liked the set up of the restroom and vanity. - The staff was just incredible, from the front-desk reception to the valets. The room, which overlooked the Alamo, was very nice. We loved our time at the Indigo.
