Hotel had a more personable feeling about it - some of the larger hotels are so impersonal. Staff were extremely friendly and greeted you upon arrival and departure. Staff were very responsive. The location is extremely good - quiet and within walking distance to many of the tourist sites.

This is an outstanding hotel. The service is superb and the staff courteous and polite. The dining experience is fabulous, and the chicken curry (ask for the white meat to be changed for dark meat) is divine. Room service is rapid, with the slowest delivery being 32 minutes - that would be extremely fast for most 5 star hotels that I have stayed in.

This hotel is "top drawer" all the way! - The hotel was quite grand, and very luxerious in the common areas. The location worked well for us, as we seemed to be no more than a 10 minute cab ride from just about every where we went. The view from our Tower room was the clincher. We had a beautiful bay view.

First time in a 'Boutique Hotel' setting, was amazing, very charming, friendly, convenient to everything, trolley directly outside hotel....restaurants, cafes, shopping, all within walking distance, or hop on trolley. Was very quiet, slept wonderfully. Decor quaint & beautiful. Bed comfy, water pressure great. Bkft included was good & filling. Cannot say enough great things about this adorable hotel. We will definately be back!

location was good but if you go two blocks over it gets a little rough.
wine and snack hour wasn't bad for free but in SF who wants to drink just decent wine?

The location of the Baldwin Hotel is just great - literally steps from Chinatown's main gate and only one block from Union Square and public transportation. Great designed and very original hotel with some different conceptual work inside. The room area was large enough. I loved the writings on the walls, the towels, and the lightning of the room.Ther e is even ironing table inside the room, very practical. Hotel location is very central. The stafff were proffessional and helpful. A remarkable place to stay again.
