  Excellent location - walking distance to shops, restaurants and farmers market at nearby Third Street Promenade, as well as the Santa Monice Pier amusement park and beach boardwalk (with bike rentals nearby).   Everthing about this hotel was great the location and the staff wereexcellent.the room was great and had the most comfortable bed of all thehotels we strayed at during our trip to the U.S. its a very charmingplace to stay and I would definatly recommend this hotel and the areafor your stay in la. - Great hotel with soem real history in a great loca... vad folk säger » tion.   Location,non-ostentatious decor. Food and service world class.Staff cooperation and friendliness unmatched.Spotlessly clean everywhere. Attention to detail and personalised non intrusive care made one feel special. Great quality in a most pleasant setting. Our grateful thanks to Mr. Platt who deserves the plaudits for running such a marvellous hotel. B.Wilshire-- eat you - The location was outstanding: right across from the beach. The pool had a wonderful set up with cabannas and two smaller pools which made it more intimate. The décor was modern and fun. The staff was very accommodating and knew us by name. I even got a text on my cell phone asking if we needed any help. There wasn't a wait for valet to bring the car up.

  Staying at shangri la is probably the best so far. The necessities are well handled and customer service is just brilliant. Like any other shangri la around the world, this branch also offers the same quality. Obviously there are many variations on the layout, service and sizes. But that didn't bother us. Also, i used the parking space for shangrila. The service there is brilliant. Althought its a bit expensive than normal parking rates, it keeps your car safe.

  The staff were fabulous, attentive, helpful, went the extra mile. Parking was easy, friendly, went the extra mile. Everyone called me by name! That matters. Room service food was yummy, elegant. I could see past the Ferris Wheel at the Santa Monica Pier! The room service was outstanding and breakfast at the gourmet restaurant was wonderful. Each staff member I met was warm, friendly and extremely professional. I would definitely return again and again!

  I really liked this hostel, the workers are super friendly, the place has 24-hour security with a buzz-in door, I felt relatively safe, the location is unbelievably great - right opposite the skate park. The staff are awesome too!! Met so many lovely people from all over the world, learnt alot from staying there. Activities organised for hostelers were great too, like Club Hop, and bar hop etc..
