For a best western it has so much character, very nice design, nice to look at and rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained.
Nice pool area and fitness suite.
Lovely location in the Old Town, within a minutes walk of local restaurants and bars.
Easy to get to gaslight quarter on the trolley system.

The BW Hacienda is our main reason for visiting San Diego. Our return for a second vacation in SD this year was because we have found this central, traditional-style, good-value hotel in the Old Town. This hotel is very comfortable, well-appointed, clean and has excellent beds! The Hampton line of hotels are consistently excellent and the staff was wonderful as well...even calling to ensure everything was fine and recommended an excellent local pizza and pasta restaurant with free delivery for dinner when they found out we were just going to stay in for the night.

The staff is amazing! So helpful! I needed to stay an extra night and right away the front desk was able to move some things arownd so that I didn't have to move my 3 young children around and we were able to stay in the same room. They also got me a crib for the baby. I asked for it at the front desk at check in and by the time I made it to the room they were putting it in there! Outstanding location - Hotel Circle - allowed for easy commute to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Old Town, Airport, and more. We were able to go to the sites, then come back to the room for lunch and swimming and return to the sites for the evening - a great way to break things up for the kids.

It was a very nice hotel. And so beautiful! We lived in a room with to large queen size. It was very spacious and a bit old fashioned. But in a good way. It was close to a big mall, which we really approved. We didn't have breakfast included, but there is a nice café in the area (the hotel is in a very big area and has a lot of rooms all over the place) that had good sandwiches and Starbuck coffee.

Phenomenally good value for money. Just book it. The room was well and
tastefully appointed and fitted with tv, cafetiere and fridge as well as
table and chairs. A good cafe was on site serving simple but very
palatable fare. There were also gym and pool facilities which I did not
use. The location was very practical with only short drives to Sea
World, Midway Museum, Old Town, Zoo etc (in fact there were shuttles
available for a couple of these destinations). I felt very relaxed there
