I was upgraded on arrival to a suite and a late check out the day I left. I had a very bad fall on my second day in Washington and the staff were excellent, helped me get cleaned up, find a clinic, and sent me fruit and a card to wish me a speedy recovery. I had room service a couple of nights and the food was amazing. The rooftop bar is lovely , very relaxing and staff very friendly. Very nice apartment, clean, spacious and comfortable. The price-value was great, it was cheaper than a 5star hotel room. Even though the company said I couldn't leave my my luggage for a couple of hours after my check out, I had no problem, as this was a main concern.

Food was delicious. We dined in the Lafayette at least three times and in the lower bar late one evening.

There was a slight problem with our booking which was sorted out in a timely and efficient manner - everyone - from the concierge staff to the reception people were friendly and charming! Well done to all of them! WE will DEFINITELY be back!

We loved the beautiful, tasteful decor and peaceful ambiance of the public areas of this hotel. These areas included an excellent restaurant and bar and a lovely reading room. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The spa was fabulous. Three of our party had a massage, and each of us was pleased with the experience. The room was quiet and nicely appointed, although not as luxurious as some other five star hotels we've stayed in.

It was a day layover for 25th wedding ani /50th birthday
en route to Hawaii. Given room upgrade not quite a suite but corner room views both ways. Biggest chocolate strawberrys/and cake and cream ive ever seen as a special gesture and free. staff and conciege extra polite and helpful.As previous comments this is a luxury standard by which all others should be judged the besr hotel we have stayed in and weve stayed in some top ones. the hotel is steeped in history take the trouble to enquire????
