We had been warned before that building work was underway but it made no difference whatsoever to our enjoyment and all the staff went out of their way to be both friendly and helpful. There was also an enthusiasm for the place that was refreshing. The pool was delightful. I liked it all .. Cottons is a great place to stay .. My daughter and I I loved it some much that we booked to come back 2 months later ,, it didn't disappoint. Cottons is a warm and welcoming hotel and I highly recommend it. We love the place.
alla recensioner » Good check in times means you can get good use from the spa. Room we had was large, a family room, but only us 2 using it. Benefits from having a sofa, desk, chair, Bose music system, tea and coffee facilities etc. Breaking our jouyney by staying at Cottons' before going on to Scotland to start our holiday was a lovely way to start our holiday. We had a lovely relaxing swim before dinner followed by a good nights sleep. We were there for my Nephew's wedding. It all went really well, everyone really enjoyed the Wedding & their stay at Cottons Hotel. The staff were great, the breakfast was supurb. Great value for money. Luxury but not stuffy or snobby. Very friendly and helpful staff, who upgraded us to a suite because it was our wedding anniversary. Great facilities, including pool/spa. The surrounding Countryside is very nice (In my case for running). The room is good with a suitable table and chair for working. The location is excellent. Great receptionist and all round good service. Spa nice and quiet when we stayed and loved having a morning coffee in the outdoor hot tub. The chance to relax in the heated spa was wonderful. Lovely meal - though certainly not value for money. The staff were warm, and helpful. The food was superb, and the outdoor hot tub was an absolute treat :-). Breakfast - have stayed 3 times now, and every time it is so badly organised! On this occasion we asked 3 times for coffee, which eventually arrived about 15 minutes after we had eaten our breakfast! Too many kids in the spa area and pools, being incredibly loud - and people who had 'hogged' loungers, but were actually in the pool. My only criticism is the pre-cooked breakfast. If the eggs could be cooked to order you would get a runny yoke. The bed was dissapointing, old mattrass. No fridge in room. when the waiter tells you that the servings are small - believe them!!!. Nothing really :-). Noisy at night. Room doors banging and not very soundproof. Aircraft over every 5 minutes in the day. Overbearing restaurant staff. Wanted a quiet relaxing meal, our main meal arrived when we were still eating our starter. We were interrupted constantly, and badgered too early to have a desert. Needless to say we went out to a restaurant in Knutsford the next evening. Nothing. The restaurant didn't have much choice of food... restaurant staff ignored us. management unhelpful in restaurant. management from restaurant promised a letter with a code for free meal if we booked a room again, have not received any letter. Large groups of women had been put on the same floor as us. Some next door to us and some opposite us. They were marching up and down the corridor, arguing and knocking on each others doors from 1 am until 7 am. We got hardly any sleep and I was very upset because it was our wedding anniversary night. The hotel could have organised this situation much better. I thought the breakfast was very expensive for what you got. The meal provided for myself and friends for our reunion was very poor and not good value for money. There was no mirror anywhere near the hairdryer! The aircraft noise. Heating/ac system awkward to use. Prefer to obtain drinks from the Bar myself instead of being waited on. Not being able to help yourself to the main breakfast, seemed a little overpriced if you just wanted a light breakfast. Average room in need if modernisation on the second floor. Lacked ambience, with the exception of staff at breakfast everyone else was miserable, no warmth, no one smiled or made an effort. Really disappointed would not stay again. Mattress was very uncomfortable disappointed. :(. long distance from entrance to room. Small details in the room in need of maintenance eg paint on the back of the bathroom door is coming off in room 219. Not much. Bed uncomfortable not firm very noisey. Fire alarm Wedding party. The arrogance of the reception staff upon arrival. The lack of service during breakfast. The fact that I had to produce the piece of paper given at check in to order drinks at the bar. My swipe card and ID was not enough. The lady behind the bar was also very rude and unaccommodating. In spite of the menu stating that fresh seasonal vegetables are now on the menu, not ONE vegetable was actually available. The chips with one meal were undercooked, and the steak and chips, was just that, no additional choice of vegetables. The meals are vastly overpriced for the actual contents on the plate. Service was very slow with a large number of people sitting at one time. Shower was hopeless. The breakfasts. How is it possible to make such a well presented breakfast tasteless?. I stayed for 3 nights with my 9 year old while attending the classic car show in Tatton park Internet at the hotel i a joke and to be told to contact a third party to sort out any problems is not on. Room very poor and old fashioned. In need of a complete update and overhaul. noisy airconditioning, noisy planes above. Lack of milk in std room. Two of the bills we were presented with were incorrect and had to be adjusted. Very poor evening food. Sandwiches ordered, as late arrival , were not as described on the menu. They were chunks of cheese between buttered cut loaf. No mirror by hair dryer Plastic cover on mattress. Staff in restaurant inexperienced, given someone else's drinks' bill, crispy duck too crispy, not asked whether wanted tap water and how lamb to be cooked, leant across to serve by waitress, sat by noisy family with children - all-in-all restaurant let hotel down. Staff in the spa entrance were 2 young boys. This hotel is in need of updating.
