Very helpful staff. Stayed here as a single female. Large and very comfortable Double/Twin room - I think I was upgraded. Shower only. The noise from the bar was audible until 10.30 but went quiet before I needed to sleep and this was a Friday/Saturday in September. Lovely fresh cooked breakfast cooked and served by lovely Linda. Excellent evening meals which we had both nights. Nice very clean bedroom (4). Good position to explore the area.
alla recensioner » We enjoyed are stop over, the location was perfect. The atmosphere was full of Christmas which made it very relaxing and enjoyable, complemented with very good food. Parking facilities, excellent food, great pub atmosphere, polite friendly staff and clean quality facilities all at a responsible price what's not to like. A warm welcome from the staff and good food. The full English breakfast was very good indeed. We had a very comfortable large double bed. Friendly welcoming staff made you feel at home. Comfortable clean room with good facilities. Good food. A very enjoyable holiday. it was close to the National Trust properties we wanted to visit. Room cold but Linda gave us an electric heater the next morning which solved the problem. We could done with somewhere to hang our wet coats. The heating came on a bit late at both ends of the day. We should have asked for a spare heater which we could have had. Our room was rather small - we expected bigger and there was a connecting partition to next door which was not soundproof and we could hear the people snoring in the night. The shower wasn't the greatest as it didn't maintain temperature. The weather of which they had no control. This was the only down side for us. nothing. Quiz night made it difficult for us to park. Couldn't stay longer. Perhaps a little expensive for the rather basic facilities. long waiting times for food. The pub food was very poor. The owner/manager was verbally abusive. Evening waitress was not very capable and "highly-strung" Stairs to the restaurant were steep.
