I have never written a review before but found it necessary to express my sincere love for this hotel! The hotel is exquisite and I would describe it as shabby chic meets British cottage where everything was tastefully done. The entrance, bar, rooms, rear garden were all so beautiful and very inviting! It is so rare to stay in such a tastefully decorated place that did not hurt your pocketbook! The staff were so kind and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The breakfast which was included . alla recensioner »

Everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere very relaxing. I would definitely stay again should I find myself in the vicinity.
Clean, comfortable room with excellent facilities. Friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Well cooked, good quality food and very good selection of wines.

Location. Very picturesque,
Very Olde Worlde..
As this was just a brief stopover en route after a very long journey, we did not spend very long in the hotel, merely bed and breakfast. Breakfast was the best we have had in ages!.
The hotel was very clean and tidy serving good food. the staff were very polite and helpful.
Good food, liked locally sources foods, friendly staff, nice decor.
Decor clean.
Chef was very friendly and Chatty . Nice selection of Bitter . Nice food .
Nothing as this place is perfect!.
There wasn't anything I didn't like about the lion hotel.
One of the shower heads did not work and was not fixed during my stay.
The only drawback is the lack of a dedicated car-park but the public car park is very close.
No on site parking, although there is a free public car park nearby.
No signal for my mobile phone!!.
If you cant manage stairs this place could be difficult as its an old
building that has been lovingly brought into the the present. The stairs
are just part of the building. There is free parking about 100yds away,
its not a big deal as you get to see part of the village.
room was slightly cramped & the shower thermostat was not working correctly.
the latter could have fixed perhaps, but in fairness to the Lion, i forgot to mention it.
Unfortunately the location is on the corner of the main road and although a small sleepy village still very noisy as tractors and refuse vehicles load and unload right outside our window. 6.30 am !!! But not of course the hotels fault and we would stay again.
Nothing not to like.
The room was a bit cold on arrival but once the radiator was on it was fine. Also I had expected some toothpaste and mini toiletries since I have had this elsewhere so I didn't bring any with me. However, there was a co-op next door so the problem was easily fixed.
Although we were residents the restaurant was fully booked. As we had not booked dinner in advance. We were given a table upstairs that lacked the atmosphere of the main restaurant.
Car parking in village, but very little actually at hotel.
More choices on menu.
the bedroom would have been better if it had a hairdryer and a suitable mirror.
the heat in our room was unbearable - perhaps a fan would help - also the noise of traffic was a nuisance, but that's not a fault of the Lion.
Breakfast a little dis-organised, took a long while to get served.
Careful about the restaurant. We were put in an alcove, then next to the toilets. Third try was better.
Lots of narrow stairs so you need to be fit.
There was no parking available, had to use the street.
Let down at breakfast. Not enough staff. Order wrong.
lack of parking we had to walk quite a way with our heavy bags.
no dislikes.
breakfast staff slow to clear tables.
Only hot water out of tap and tap could've been cleaner. Knob missing on chest of drawers.
Shower in room had no hot water chef was dismissive of customer
complaint.
no kettle in room... staff too busy to rectify.
Shower thermostat stuck.
I booked a double room on arrival the there were two signal beds pushed together which I found uncomfortable, the internet and phone signal was very poor.
Shower only luke warm, lack of hairs dryer, staff failed to advise that
flowers had been delivered.
Food was not good , poor mattress on bed . Breakfast not served til 9.0 am . No option given for something earlier.
Had to wait forever for food service . No Hotel Information in room . Manager or duty manager walked past us several times never acknowledged us at all . No on site parking . Room door difficult to close . Booked 8 months in advance and told at one stage we didn't have a room .
