The Hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.Good location Friendly staff Good games/videos for children. the location and breaskfast were both exelent. The huge breakfast and resonable bar prices. We liked it so well we stayed an extra day!. Staff were very friendly. Central position. peace. The welcome from Andrew and his staff was very good. Everyone was very helpful and polite. The fact that you could book by the night suited us as we were only in Windermere for one night. A lot of hotels insisting on minimum of 2 nights stay. Breakfast was great. When next back in WIndermere we return to the Lonsdale. Friendly service and freshly cooked breakfast. Excellent housekeeping too. very pleasant and helpful staff and relaxing atmosphere. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, our room was spacious and had a great view, and the full english breakfast was excellent each day. Having the bar to return to for a drink in the evening was also very nice. Location excellent - short walk into Bowness or to Lake Windermere. The stafff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean andcomfortable and the bathroom was cleaned every day along with freshtowels every day. The food was exteremly nice "a good hearty breakfast."Facilities were good and the bar reasonably priced.Very friendly staff, helpful,as it should be. customer service. breakfast. Staff, room decor and cleanliness. Lovely location, the staff did make you feel very welcome and valued, the little touches like the sherry decanter and a box of chocolates for Easter was a wonderful surprise. the room we had at the hotel was very nice and nice view of the lake. The hotel was idealy situated in relation to the town center. Clean polite and pleasant staff. Friendly and clean. close to amenities. Staff. The room was warm and comfortable and the room facilities were very good.Ambience excellent, staff v helpful and friendly. the location in the center of the village. kind and helpful staff; good breakfast. Friendly staff, nice room. Our rooms were beautiful. The location in the lake district. location. Clean, comfortable and friendly. TV, tea/coffee in room. Good view of Lake. Location. Staff. Good breakfast plently to eat.good location. Car parking was not easy. only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. Old style sash windows, good for appearence, not v good to keep the noise outside. Parking facilities, traffic noise and non-working electric razor point. Inconvenience was the small car park but understanderbly in a village location not much can be done about this.had to wait nearly 25 minutes on the last day for a table fotr two for breakfast.but thats not really hotel fault if everybody goes for breakfast same time, and waiter was very apologetic about the situation. The staff were smoking on the premise, which they denied when I asked them to stop (the dining room overspill stank of smoke, as did the bar in the evening, but the smell was obviously eminating from the rear of house). car parking...very small and difficult to get into when other cars were parked. Parking. the beds. Too bouncy and noisy. When we were sitting in the lounge in the evening we could smell cigarette smoke, obviously a member of staff was smoking. Maintenance of some items questionable, shaver plug did not work, toilet flush needed attention. bathroom cleanness not too careful. Our room were very far apart even though we booked quite a while ago and requested them together. the outside could do with a lick of paint. a bit pricey for what we got. En-suite very small!. Limited facilities. Bathroom needed decorating and shower did not work properly.
Noisey front room due to traffic should be adviced when booking room. could smell cigarette smoke whilst eating breakfast!!.
