Local attractions such as Galava Roman Ruins, Bridge House and Homes of Football are all within walking distance.

The hosts Sue and Ray were very friendly, casual and flexible. When I needed to get up earlier than their hours for breakfast they still made me breakfast, and it was very delicious. I stayed in one of their single occupancy rooms with a comfy bed, sharing the large bathroom (which was no problem at all) and was a great bargain. The place is conveniently close to public transportation and stores. The hosts are also knowledgeable about the area. A great place!.
alla recensioner » I liked everything about my stay. The facilities were excellent and I will definetely be returning to ambleside and, 3 cambridge villas is top of my bed and breakfast list. Also due to the bus stops being directly behind the b and b, you dont have to worry about driving. You can virtually jump on the bus and travel anywhere in the lake district. Sue and Ray the hosts were very friendly and kind. They helped us with everything we needed. The place is very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good and the location is perfect. Many good restaurants around the place. The room was very warm and welcoming. Exactly what we wanted. The staff were so very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were clean and had everything that you would expect, the beds were comfortable, the TV a good size for the room. The breakfasts were very good. We will definitely be returning, it very good value for money. Spotlessly clean room, friendly welcome and lovely breakfast. Had single room with shared bathroom and this was amazing value for money. Location right in middle of town round the corner from main bus stop but on a quiet road. Will definitely stay here again. The staff were truly wonderful and were happy to go the extra mile. This B&B is in an excellent location for both accessing some superb walking and climbing and then for finding some lovely resturants and bars at the end of a long day. The couple who run Cambridge Villas are extremely helpful and friendly. Room was warm and bed very comfortable. The bedding was crisp and fresh. Really liked the location which was closed to bars, shops and restaurants. Owners were helpful with printing off a map so we could enjoy a walk on the fells. My description in words would be immaculate comfortable rooms, breakfast very well presented and served hot, proprietors have a genuine practical knowledge of and empathy with the surrounding fells. The location of B&B is located in downtown, and it's just a walk distances to lake. The stay this time was wonderful. There was nothing I didn't really like but it would've been nice to have more film choices available in our room even if it were a pay-per-view service. I don't know if this is affordable for most B&B's though. The hair shampoo and conditioner could be better. Sink in the en-suite was a little high but otherwise clean etc. More information about breakfast choices would have been helpful. Car parking limited, so had to block other residents in. Room small; smallest shower we have seen, just serviceable, however. Ambleside is a kitchy tourist town, no fault of the 3 Cambridge Villas owners, of course. Try Grasmere or another nearby, quiet location--only a few miles. N/A. single room little bit smaller than I thought. Nothing. Nothing. The bed was very uncomfortable, so we didn't sleep well at all.
