  Excellent location to most of the main attractions of the old town within 10 min walk, and easy access to the public transportation. If anyone would like to see the night view of the Blue Mosque, this is a very convenient place to stay. It is walk up apartments and my 73 year old mother and 2 young kids had some difficulties but the room was comfy and the view nice so they didn't mind walking. Thank you Hassan and team for making our stay comfortable and wonderful.

  The history: Agatha Christie wrote her [Murder on the Orient Express] at this hotel. There is a small exhibition area on the fourth floor about this and other historic moments. The elevator from 1895 can still run (though not always in use). They sell postcards and other souvenirs about the hotel at the front desk. Really a piece of history! The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
