The rooms were comfortable and the AC worked great! It's also in a great location - just a short walk from Taksim Square. The best part of the hotel was the staff - they literally ran through tear gas with us to help us make our way to a shuttle for an early morning flight. Beyond these mild heroics, they also were very valuable in helping us navigate the city, make plans, and were responsive to any room-related requests we had.

So I highly recommend using the service (a big van!) when arriving in Istanbul. - The owners were amazing, taking the time to explain the history of Istanbul and lay out an itinerary for us on our tight schedule! The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the Sultanahmet tram stop and it takes roughly an hour to get to from the Ataturk Airport. My fiance and I would highly recommend this hotel as it is an amazing value and right near the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and Topkapi Palace.

The Venera hotel staff and facilities were excellent. The view of the sea/city from the terrace is great. WiFi of very good quality. The placement of the hotel in the Laleli neighborhood is giving a good opportunity to explore as pedestrian the old part of the city (SultanAhmet) in your (remaining) free time. Istanbul is an amazing city and staying here is the perfect place to base yourself. -
Great location and excellent staff. We were offered a drink on arrival and sat with the owner one night after dinner and were treated to Turkish coffee and tea which was a nice little touch.
The staff were all very accommodating as you would expect for a small family run hotel/bnb. The breakfast was pleasant and consisted of tea/coffee a few cheeses, cereal and boiled eggs.
We had a lovely time staying at Seatanbul apart and would definitely recommend it to our friends.
