We were upgraded from a triple room to a family room. The view of "Huttusha" was great, and the room was huge. Kids loved the garden to run. The location is right in the city center with small shops, banks, and market around. The owner speaks fluent english and even gave us welcome drinks and brief introduction of Huttusha. Wonderful stay in Bogazkale!. The hotel is very clean and quite well-kept by the owner and his wife and son. I came in September, when they were mostly empty, so the owner bumped me to a double room at no extra charge. Meals, particularly dinner, are delicious. I received a welcome drink, a goodbye drink, and lots of friendly guidance about the area in between.

He welcomed and offer us a cup of tea, showed our room then cooked our dinner, and in the morning he readied our breakfast. Everything was excellent. I can recommend everyone to stay at Baykal Hotel that is willing to visit Hattusas. Very friendly and helpful staff. They were very careful about our comfort. It got a little cold in our room, and the management delivered a heater to us without being asked. They also gave us gave us very good tourist information. Good wi-fi. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. The owner/manager is very friendly. He understands and speaks English well. Mustafa knows every rock and he knows the history of Hattusha very well. You can choose any tipe of room at the hotel and it will be affordable and nice. This has become our favorite Hotel after traveling in Turkey five times. Excellent rooms, with good taste design and good comfort. The owner is friendly and helpful. His wife cooks excellent food! We're dreaming of coming back... Good price, hotel was empty so was upgraded to better room at same quoted price. On late arrival owner was friendly and helpful and prepared something to eat. Was able to leave gear in room while out sightseeing. The warm atmosphere and kind hospitality made our stay in this small family-run hotel extremely pleasant. The owner was extremely helpful in providing competent information on the nearby sites. Perfect for visiting Hattush or as half way point to elsewhere. Very good value for money. Staff was friendly and helped with travel plans. the staff is helpful the kitchen is good. + Next to Hattusas + Staff spoke English + Good Wifi + Owner knowledge on history + Quiet place at nite + It's cooler in the mountains. The breakfast could be better... Room was a little cold, but a heater arrived before it became a problem. Nothing to complain about. Food price was too high for this type of food in Turkey, dinner and lunch ended up costing as much as the room. Each food item was charged for separately without my being made aware of the price. Village is very small so not a lot there to keep one interested. Owner/manager very nice but a little too keen to please. If he relaxed a little, guests would also. if we can cook in a public small kitchen,it will be better. - A bit small rooms - Not the best shower - Very small town - Stay on main roads when you approach the town unless you drive 4x4.
