Hotel was spotlessly clean, friendly unobtrussive staff, excellentbreakfast selection, large room, comfortable bed, lots of informationfor guests, spectacular views from the balcony. Hotel staff was so kind and thoughtful. I really enjoyed my travel here. The room has very nice view. It was wonderful. Location is excellent with wonderful views from the room and the hotel is walking distance from restaurants and all the amenities of Grindelwald. The staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed for dinner. alla recensioner »
Lovely traditional hotel with friendly staff - when the manager tried to book a taxi to the train station at 6.00am and was told they wouldn't come out before 7.00am he said he would get up at 5.30am and take us to the station himself which he did (and made us a coffee too!) - fantastic service! Good continental breakfast and hotel was kept very clean.very welcoming and friendly staff/owner. great location and balcony. pool table and bar. Good localization and nice hospitality, good breakfast; a 2 star hotel with 5 star class. pleasant and clean. The location is excellent. Right at the end of the ski slope for First. The room was rustic in a nice way. Just what I was looking for. The bus stop is at the hotel, breakfast was excellent, and it is a two minute walk to the shopping area. It's position in the town and a particularly nice bedroom with views of the Eiger and up to the Wetterhorn. The view from our room was so excellent. The room was big enough fortwo persons. The view was awesome!. Generally good.It was quiet. Room had a balcony. Staff were friendly. Good hotel in central location. The view from the terrace was extremely nice. There is no smoking ban in Switzerland as here so like all the other hotels, bars and restaurants we visited, the public areas could get smokey in an evening but expect this everywhere. Also the church which looks lovely starts ringing its bells on the hours and half hour from about 7.00am so if you're not an early riser take ear plugs!. decor in the room and bathroom looked a tad tired. cigarette smells in the hotel entrance lobby. When we booked we fully assumed the restaurant was open as described but when we arrived we were told it had been closed for some time. It had been described as a gourmet restaurant so we were naturally very unhappy with this. Restaurant was closed. The restaurant in the other hotel close to ourhotel was so nice. If the hotel has good restaurant, guests would bemuch happier.restaurant was being re-done; no free wireless in the room. Little bit pricy but probably all hotels are expensive in Grindelwald. A bit far from the station, about15 minute-walk, but not so bad.The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station, maybe 15 minutes, but a pleasant one (uphill!!) The hotel is right opposite the church, so if you dont mind constant bell ringing its fine, but suggest looking elsewhere if you like a good sleep-in!. One could smell smoke from cigarettes within the rooms/hotel. No restaurant. The staff of the hotel was quite unfriendly and felt terribly bad. I think there is some dicrimination towards Japanese national. If you are Japanese I would suggest you not staying in that hotel.
