The backpack was a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The common areas were laid back & relaxed and the place was very clean. It was my second time at this hostel and I came back three years later because I liked it. Apart from it being excellent for what is officially a backpackers place I really appreciate the attitude of owners and staff who are supporting community projects and take recycling seriously, something that is still not very wide spread in South Africa. Excellent Sandwiches and breakfast.

52 De Wet is an amazing boutique hotel nested in a cul-de-sac uphill Bantry Bay. The room we stayed in was HUGE (Penthouse), with ample space, comfortble bed, two spacious walk-in closets, luxurious bathroom (bathtub with seaview was great). Giant balcony, beautiful design furniture, friendly and helpful staff/mngrs/owners (we even borrowed the front desk laptop for a few hours to make wire transfers for our next destination).
