A well sited small hotel in the Midland Meander with thatched roofs to most buildings. Excellent fine dining facilities at the Eves Restaurant. Spacious comfortable bedrooms with flat screen tv's. Excellent welcome and fantastic views from most rooms. Very good breakfast prepared to order. On site under cover parking. Friendly staff, comfortable room with spacious and well-appointed bathroom, bistro restaurant serves the best fish and chips and other tasty dishes plus a delicious breakfast in pleasant surroundings. The gardens were great for a morning birding walk.
alla recensioner » Really liked the cosy bedroom, and the fireplace a life saver as electricity was off for a few hours. Room cleaned very efficiently every day. Loved the rose petals on the bed at night and in the bath. Location. View from the room across the rural midlands and river. Very comfortable king-size bed, large room and large bathroom with both shower and bath. Very friendly staff. Nice location in the Midlands. Two swimming pools, nice restaurant and rest area. Good place to have some rest. The fact that all the staff were very friendly and greeted you whenever they saw you.the food and wine list was also very good. Loved the little cottage we stayed espically the fact that we could light the fire .Food in the Eve's resturant was excellent. Loved the trees, the river, the thatch, the fire place..also loved the impromptu birthday cake for my wife. food in restaurant view from room large comfortable bed wood burner under floor heating in bathroom. Live (granny?) mouse in our room - how authentic is that! Wasn't really a problem as it did not bother us so we did not bother it. Staff entering to turn down the bed. The wines were overpriced. We asked for water at the fine dining dinner which never arrived. The toast at breakfast did not arrive. lack of storage in room. Wines are quite pricy - a few more reasonable options would be good. Ordered meals took a while to come (eg 35 mins for a toasted sandwich). Nothing. Nothing. Rooms a little too small to allow for two suitcase stands. Wood in fireplace wouldn't,t lite. TV channels a bit limited and changed in mid program. Never did find out what happened at the end of NCIS Los Angeles. Nothing. The fact that I booked via the internet and received confirmation but the hotel did not expect me. They didn't know I was coming. wish i could have had a better price deal on the spa package. bistro supper area doesn't have the same great atmosphere as the rest of the hotel!. I believe that the porter service could be improved. Did not like chairs arrangement in TV lounge, it looked like an old age home. The Midlands Meander booklet in the rooms had the vouchers page taken out of it. We left one in the room with the voucher page in and when we came back. The voucher page had been removed. Looks bad!!!!!!. There was a live cockroach crawling under the bottom sheet of the bed and more crawling insects in the bed. No staff were on duty that evening to rectify the problem. The following morning we submitted the now dead insects to the reception staff - they were dismissive and said they would inform housekeeping.Not 4 star treatment. Very poor indeed!.
