Inside, the charming bar will influence you with the Dutch virus. Having a BBQ with a group? For 10 persons or more we can take care of your needs!

The Marathon Hotel is a hotel where our guests like to stay, because the hotel is ideally situated between lakes, woods and the big cities in the north of Holland; Groningen and Leeuwarden.
Within 60 km from the hotel you can reach the 11 historical cities and the national park ' De Alde Feanen' of Friesland.
From our hotel it is also possible to make a day trip to one of the Dutch islands Ameland and Schiermonnikoog.
Information about the area
Locally known as “The Diamond of the North”, because of the most central location of the North. Drachten is situated amongst forests, lakes and heather fields. Drachten was once the home of peat-soil workers, and their history is still evident in the surroundings. If you would like a tour of Drachten, we are more than happy to help you book Drachten’s sightseeing tours. Just ask us at the reception for details.

In addition to the listed facilities all our budget and standard rooms are cosily decorated and provided with a bed with a box spring mattress.
All budget rooms offer a shower, toilet and washbasin while all standard rooms have a double washbasin, a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

From Heerenveen/Amsterdam:
Turn off exit no.29 at the A7 highway to Drachten – De Haven. Turn right at first set of traffic lights. Marathon Hotel is then directly on your left.
From Groningen:
Turn off exit no.29 at the A7 highway to Drachten – De Haven. Turn right at first set of traffic lights. Marathon Hotel is then directly on your left.
From Leeuwarden:
From Zuiderhogeweg into Drachten. Turn left at the third set of traffic lights. Watch out for the speed control cameras on this route!
