I was picked up at the train station and immediately given some maps and tips for sightseeing. The place is managed by a very nice family, is very relaxed and the food, both dinner and breakfast was amazing!! Several courses dinner with delicious local food presented in an upscale quality. Healthy and rich in variety. Very Nice place and would definitively recommend and go back. The owner of the hotel picked us up from the train station and took us back. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, really gourmet food with beautiful presentation. The onsen on property was exceptional! We are only sorry we did not stay longer...
alla recensioner » Great family runs B&B. Dinner was great. One of the best meal I had in Japan, definitely recommend. All of the 3 private bath are so good. My family really love the place. Staffs are nice and try to help on everything. Nothing bad to say here. Villa Verage provides the most exquisite food (for their dinner serving) I have ever experienced in Japan (I have been in Japan for around ten times). It is a blended cuisine between Japanese and western, and one must try if one has chance... A wonderful place with a very nice and extremely helpful manager (/owner?). We booked a night here due to a scheduling mistake on our part and wished we could stay longer. The only downside is the price, which was very expensive. Friendliness of the staff, even drove us into dinner in town one night when we were not eating in their establishment. Enough English to get by and the food was excellent. Near the bus stop for going up into the alps. Lovely hotel, cozy and comfy. The staffs are very nice, friendly, and helpful. Private onsen is so amazing, dinner and breakfast is well prepared and very delicious. Definitely come back to stay here again :-). Nice hotel, very nice public baths, good location, very close to the bus stop 12, good connection to attractions in Nikko, very polite and helpful personel, english speaking, really enjoyed my stay!. I did enjoy the 'guest house' style of the Villa Revage,particularly the onsen there. Friendly and helpful staff, nice wood interior house, private onsens, free tee and coffee at water boiler in hallway. Host took us to the station for free on departure. The bed was a bit hard, but probably normal for Japan standards. No complaints will go back and stay again. I wanted to have dinner but it was not possible, not even to make reservation 2 days before. Also there was no japanese style breakfast. A bit outside of town, but easy bus ride in, or about a 20 minute walk. Breakfast time could start a bit early, specially in the short autumn and winter days. nothing. cramped room. would the breakfast schedule eariler . I felt, for me, I probably wouldn't use the villa for a long period. It is a little way from the central hub, whereas the Nikko Station Hotel is so very central as well as pleasant and comfortable. bathroom rather old but ok. Couldn't order to have dinner at the place. We didn't understand why. nikko is pretty much dead after 5 o'clock...but shrines, lake and nantai san are well worth a visit!.
