I pretty much loved the interaction with people while cooking and eating in the kitchen. The staff was awesome! The really cute girl (forgot her name) drove my mother and I to the train station even though that's not her job! She was just extremely friendly! It happened to be someone's birthday when I was there and a lot of people stayed up to have a birthday party for him even though most worked or had school the next day. The location is a lot better than you think especially since your in Ij.
alla recensioner » Great place. Room is comfortable, kitchen is clean, well equipt, and well policed. Train station, bus stop, many good eating and drinking places, and good priced super market all only 3 minute slow walk from hotel. Staff is friendly, helpful and can speak a little english. I look forward to staying there again. Once you've found the place (it is in a residential area but not far from a train station) it is great. Quiet location and rooms with balcony. The hostel room is clean and comfortable. friendly people, cosy, clean, simple but meets needs. Cleaniness and service! Easy to make friends!. Staff were very happy and helpful. Local people live there. It is close to Tenjin by train, 15 min. and the immediate area has everything you need to cook for yourself. It is quaint with small shops and large supermarkets. It is also very quiet and yet has a social life through kitchen and smoking area in the yard. It is cheap for Japan, and the rooms have what you need, except perhaps, space. Nothing really because I actually bring a towel on vacation as well as my own toiletries. For me it was cold in the room. Maybe I should have asked for a heater. Wifi only in communal areas (though LAN cables are provided for guests with computers). There was one time it was difficult to get a hold of staff during normal business hours. Once found, staff were their usual exceptionally hospitable self, however. Radiator/air conditioner made a bit more noise than I would have liked at my desired temperature. No wifi inside the room. the front desk staff always not available. nothing. Internet takes a while to stream videos. It's a bit far from the fun. No smoking on the balcony, which means only in the 'designated smoking area'. The hotel is more a students hostel for the Japanese, and young foreigners who are studying the language. There are many rules pasted on the walls, with ensuing threats if not abided by - which might be needed for 20 yr. old students but not for mature travelers on holiday. It doesn't have a hotel feel, there is no maid service and guests have to clean the room before they leave.
