This is a unique property - an old manor house, fully restored, a producing vineyard and an excellent estate wine that is well worth the modest price. The property is nothing less than dramatic - indeed it looks like a movie set, and could have been, for that matter since, as one of the owners told me, during WWII it was commandeered as a German military hospital, and subsequently taken over by the Allies for the same purpose. We thought the baglio was physically very beautiful - its restoration/gardens and its location on the mountain top. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! We LOVED the pool, and the fact that wine could be brought to the poolside for our enjoyment. The games room was excellent - a well-planned area for playing bridge and pool.
