  The thing that really sells this little B&B (incidentally named after the town in Motalbano!) is the welcome and sincere friendliness of the owners, Catherina and Giovanni.They have little English and our Italian is not good but we got along just fine. We had a nice apartment on second floor with a view over the swimming pool and to the beach. The chief in the kitchen was excellent.   Porto Empedocle is a good alternative to staying in Agrigento. It gives a visitor a small town experience in Sicily--very different from the cities. In the evening the whole town turns out in the cafes and the pedestrian Via Roma. Very good restaurants as well. A public bus provides easy access to the Greek temple site. The rooms are spacious and the quality of furniture is good. Clean. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff, who surprised us with pleasant  attitude and wonderful breakfast (we got ham, hot croissants, wonderful cappuccino). We liked this hotel best on our 7-day trip around Sicily. I strongly recommend to stay here.
