  Absolutely brilliant location if arriving by train to Venezia's Santa Lucia station. Less than five minutes leisurely walk with luggage. When you come out of the station the Grand Canal is in front of you, turn left and as you reach the bridge (which will be on your right) vier left and the hotel entrance is on your left in a few seconds. We found the free W - Location was perfect and was just 100 metres from the train station, easier to find the hotel, remember it's very difficult to find hotels in the small streets of Venice and it can be very difficult with a small kid and a big baggage to travel in the crowded waterbus. The street outside the hotel are always busy and crowded, felt very good and safe.The room was quite big per European standards. The breakfast was good and there were good options.   Our room and large terrace were wonderful. The room had lots of light with 4 large windows that all open with a canal view. The terrace looked over the rose garden and the Grand canal.   This is a great place to stay. It was very easy to get to and has a beautiful view of Venice. Giudecca is very peaceful, which provides a nice break from the crowds. The Residenza provided very spacious, quiet and comfortable rooms, a fully equipped kitchen complete with food for breakfast.   We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment in Castello. The location was excellent, especially since we were visiting the Biennale exhibit and both Arsenale and Giardine are close. The neighbourhood is nice and it is also close to San Marco, etc. The apartment was clean, fairly well equipped, with newly renovated bathroom. The bed was confortable. After traveling for awhile it was nice to have our own apartment. Rocky met us at the vaporetto stop, walked us to the apartment , helped us settle in. He was available if we needed him but left us to ourselves- we liked his style. The apartment was clean and comfortable.
