  I have known this 'hotel' for some 25 years. First it was a "locanda"; something lower than a hotel. I had not been there for a decade or more and this time found it had upgraded itself to a 'hotel,' level 3 in the Italian style of rating. I did not notice any appreciable difference with its earlier facilities. There were many cafés and restaurants right at the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room( and everything) was very clean and comfortable. We loved the Italian decor of the hotel, but the furniture of the rooms was really essential.

  The staff was lovely. The hotel was beautifully kept and the rooms spotless. The rooms also had a modern security system and all modern amenities. The location is fabulous. My view was of the Duomo. And you step outside and turn to your left and you are in the plaza of the Duomo. It's a five minute walk to the Academia and five to the Uffizzi.
