  The Amalfi hotel is situated within walking distance of the main railway station and is great for making it an easy two stop holiday which is what we did. It is also within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore Church is just across the road.   I do read reviews, but unlike most people,I dont moan about silly things. This hotel I have nothing bad to say about it, its all good. Great location, (just round corner from main metro) We walked to closest attraction (Colloseum) and each other attraction including the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and two others I cant remember names of were all with... vad folk säger » ing 10 to 15 min walk. We took a bus which cost us 1.5 euros each to the Vatican. as this is about 25 min drive away. Hotel rooms were spotless as was - Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Hotel was able arrange an extra nights stay after we missed our flight at short notice. Room was good size for 3 adults. The Hotel was close to the central station and easy to find, even with the hotel that close it was not affected by any noise. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets adjacent to the hotel offering a varied choice and at good prices. Will stay there again.

  The reason I chose this hotel was the fabulous location - when in Rome,I spend most of my time at the ancient monuments, and this place is right at the bottom of the via Cavour, literally a minute or two from the Roman and Imperial Fora. I had a deluxe room and it was lovely - faciltities were good, nice shower, tv, safe, fridge - all you would ne... vad folk säger » ed. Everything was clean and though the style of decor would, for some, probably be a little out of date, I thought it was quite charming. Note though - Once we arrived the staff was prompt and happy to greet us. Though we didn't speak Italian they spoke enough English to communicate perfectly. The stay was great, we decided we needed to stay a second night without booking it and they ensured me it wasn't a problem offering me the same rate. Ana Paola and Luigi were extremely polite and helpful. The location is right dead in the heart of Ancient Rome, absolutely amazing for the price. Tons of restaurants and bars close as well.
