  Evening dinner at the hotel was delicious. Beautifully presented, and a wide variety of food and well thought out meals. Just lovely. I am sure my mother and I gained 5 kilos, but it was worth it. Staff were very proper and personable. Also helpful. The gardens and lakes were beautiful, which were enhanced by the lovely weather.   Excellent hotel. Booked it from the reviews on line and I can't praise the hotel and staff enough. We paid a little extra for a room overlooking the lake and the view was well worth it. Very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Ferry stop to all the touristy places was right outside the hotel and there are restaurants and bars nearby. Parking is available about a 5 min walk away for a small charge. - Great location, around the corner from the lakefront promenade with its luxury hotels, including the 150 year old Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees, of Hemingway (A Farewell to Arms) fame. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Giuseppe, who greeted us on arrival and daily with a warm smile and two-handed handshake. A short walk to everything, downtown shopping and restaurants and the ferries to the islands in the lake. Generous breakfast buffet with home-baked cakes and pastries.

  Recently stayed in the Albergo Eden for four nights while attending a friends wedding in the Dino hotel. The location was excellent, right in the middle of the town with a lovely view. The owner got up every night to let me in at all hours in the morning. The hotel rooms are what you pay for cheap and cheerful!   Beautifully clean hotel,wonderful owners, very helpful, free parking space. Good breakfast and a simply fantastic location. 5 mins walk to Lido to catch taxi boats to Borromean Islands, also a restaurant at the Lido with v/good food. 5 mins in opposite direction and you are in the centre of Stresa with its shops,bars and restaurants. The value for money was fantastic. - To call it 'basic' would be an injustice - its a simple place, exactly how hotels used to be, without the modern frills that many hotels now offer (eg aircon, fridge). What it does offer is: charming and helpful family owners, great location (just 3mins walk off the lake-shore) on a quiet lane, simple accommodation, balcony overlooking quiet leafy gardens. Lovely hotel, great value for money, definitely recommended

  The hotel facilities were just perfect: the location, the staff , the outdoor pool facilities, although the menu prices were just a bit expensive. I will definitely recommend this hotel. - A hotel in a superb location that lives up to its title. We had an excellent time.
