  Pension Panorama was actually closed due to heat not working, so we were directed to stay at another 'Hotel Panorama' a few miles down the road. They offered us the same rate for the room as well as breakfast, which was nice.

  The Square Coburg is in a wonderful location - right on the corner of the main square. We were there during the Weihnachtsmarkt and we had an amazing view from our room. Everything you need is within walking distance and the bäckerei below it is very handy. We were travelling with my sister and her husband and we were given rooms beside one ano... vad folk säger » ther and direct access to a kitchen, which was great. Be sure to go to Münchner Hofbräu for lunch or dinner - great atmosphere. Monika was delightfu - Even though Coburg is a hidden gem under the historical German towns & beautifully preserved & restored with lots to see, good restaurats &C. There has been no acceptable hotel/b&b is the center (which is where you want to stay) - so The Square finally filled that gap with spacious, no frills but also no eyesore designed rooms, good beds & sheets & very friendly staff.
