  Excellent location, very close to train station and many restaurants...just a few steps to the lovely lake area. It's close to shopping and sights, too, and if you're not too burdened with luggage, you can walk from the cruise center (we did, with 50-pound bags). We'd stay at Ibis again. - Location was a big plus, walking distance from train station and main city attractions. Staff at the breakfast buffet, bar and front desk were very nice.   This is a great hotel to stay at in Hamburg. It has a cozy feel, and good sized rooms and bathrooms. We were able to walk right into the city center in about 15 minutes, and another 5 minutes to the lake. There is also a metro stop very close by, and it's a 10 minute walk to the Reeperbahn, however, it's far enough away to not be disturbed by any n... vad folk säger » oise.   I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Am Rothenbaum. The hotel is in an attractive neighborhood and right opposite the Hallerstrasse subway station, which is one stop from the Dammtor regional train station (much nicer than the Hauptbahnhof main station in Hamburg). All is smartly done. The breakfast, for an extra fee of 10 Eu - 100% friendly and helpful staff. The location is the best - close to the metro station, a supermarket, multiple cafes and restaurants around. Wi Fi working fast and really everywhere at the hotel. A complimentary glass of wine upon arrival was a nice surprise.
