  The hotel was very comfortable with modern, clean bedrooms in a delightfully restored coach house, which originally belonged to the chateau next door. Dominique, the owner cooked and served us a fabulous meal on the Tuesday night despite the restaurant being closed, which we chose from an extensive menu. Nothing not to like, but beware the restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and the nearest pl - The food was superbly cooked and presented and was of an exceptionally high standard. The accommodation was beautifully appointed and met all of our needs perfectly. The hosts Dominique and his wife were very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble.

  This is the second time that we have had the pleasure of staying at the Chateau de l'Abbaye. The Renard family was as welcoming and gracious as ever; showing us to our room, pointing out the features of the room, offering to carry our suitcase. This time we stayed in the room called Marguerite, in the main house. Since we were last there, a private spa has - The superb level of service of the owners,the comfort and quality of the bedrooms and the air condoning during the heat wave conditions during of visit. The set menu evening dinners were by far the best we had on our three week visit to France Our original booking was two days, we extended to three then continued our journey.   We got upgraded and had a fabulous balcony overlooking the sea. We paid extra for breakfast in our room just to appreciate the view. We were given an excellent breakfast selection - Friendly staff. Wonderfull room with terrace on the sea-side.

  Used the Martinet as an overnight stop on our cycle touring holiday. Bouin is a quiet village with an interesting church and the Martinet is the perfect place to relax. Run by a very pleasant couple you feel that without being intrusive, nothing would be too much trouble for them to help make your stay a very comfortable experience. Host made an upgrade for free and spacey room was beautiful: large bed and windows faced with court on one side and old church on the other. Perfect for the medieval village fun.
