  Very charming chateau outside of Onzain. The chateau keepers could not have been kinder or more accommodating. Our French was not strong at all, and they very kindly helped translate a menu for us at a very nice restaurant they recommended in the neighboring town to celebrate our anniversary. They also called the restaurant to make the reservation... vad folk säger » for us. They spoke fluent English which was incredibly helpful. The view from our 2nd floor room was truly spectacular! And the breakfast they offere - I loved the Hotel. Very nice staff and very relaxing place conveniently located next to the most famous Loire Castles. I will go back. A great find! The Loire castles are beautiful and visiting them is a pleasure. I stayed 3 days but I could have stayed a week. So much to see. Do not forget to visit the caves and do some wine tasting.

  It is hard to imagine a more charming place to stay in the Loire than Les Douves. Once a grand chateau occupied the small island, with its 360 degree moat, on which the current “manor” style building sits. Family owned and operated, Les Douves has only one guest accommodation. A suite consisting of a large bedroom and sitting room, two other salons, a - A beautiful place owned by a really nice couple. We enjoyed the Gresse couple hospitality and the spacious and tastefully decorated suite. The place is ideal for families: the suite accommodates a family of five comfortably and the yard is full of fun. The Gresse kids are very friendly and were eager to show my kids all the animals: swans & ducks in the moat, chickens & rabbits in the yard, and then climbed with them to the tree house and picked apples right from the tree. A real treat

  Everything was perfect! So much to do for the whole family. Great kids clubs, entertainment in the evenings right beside the restaurant. Meals very reasonably priced, you could watch a show and have dinner & drinks at the same time. Staff were fantastic, great with the kids. Indoor and outdoor pool lovely, laundry facilities great. Bb - Lovely pools which weren't too crowded. The two young staff in reception, one English and one French, were excellent and helped us to book canoeing and other trips.The night security man was also very helpful.

Traditional, very well maintained and decorated with great taste. Our superior room was very spacious, overlooking the garden, and the bathroom was modern. Breakfast is very complete. We really enjoyed the heated outdoor pool, excellent for spending the afternoon. Overall a great base for visiting the Loire Valley.

Good restaurant, use of local ingredients. Breakfasts and the evening meal served in the dining room were excellent. The staff was helpful, considerate and responsive. We would stay there again.

  The quality of the welcoming and flexibility ( we arrived around 11 pm. ) The room design. It was pure design. A wonderful bed ! It was @ 10 km from our appointment @ 5:30 am to take off with our balloon. - Great design, atmosphere was very calm & relaxing, host was very kind & helpful, good food, great location.
