This 18th century troglodyte castle presents a 5-hectare enclosed park and a lovely river. The on-site aquarium carved into the cliff is a listed monument.
The château d’hôte welcomes an international clientele, children of all ages, and the owners are happy to cater special dietary requirements on request or assist you with restaurant reservations and advice on nearby activities and sights.

Absolutely marvelous place and people who own it and were our hosts. It was magnificently decorated, clean, comfortable, elegantly presented in every aspect in every detail to make your stay wonderful which included the staff and service. They even made reservations at a wonderful restaurant for us for dinner that night when we arrived when we asked for a suggestion. The owners of the Chateau de Perreux are friendly and welcoming. The chateau is beautiful, the rooms are lovely and exactly what you see on the website, the gardens of the chateau are lovely to wander in and the pool area is so relaxing. Extraordinary surroundings, calm and almost cosy atmosphere for a "Chateaux". The place is managed by the owners themselves who are very helpful and kind and give you the feeling of being their private guests. The decoration is extraordinary and can only rarely be matched by the members of the famous "Relais and Chateaux" chain. Everything. The owners could not have been more thoughtful, considerate and hospitable. The chateau was without a doubt the best value for the money during our two week stay in France wherein we had stayed at four different locations. Staying at this hotel was akin to stepping back in time to the glory that once was France.Very nice and convenient to Amboise/Tours and all the Loire Valley Chateaux. Owners were delightful and very helpful. Recommended some fantastic restaurants. The chateaux were stunning with lots of property to walk around and admire. Highly recommended. I would definitely stay again. We were welcomed with graciousness and warmth. The attention to detail and the care shown for guests is outstanding.It is a perfectly decorated, well-reserved real castle with warmly welcoming hosts who make your stay unforgettable. The hosts Victoria and Alun were very helpful and friendly. The chateau was breathtaking and the area peaceful.The place was wonderful and the way the owners treated us excellent. Staying there is much more than just an place to sleep, it is a place to make a fine friendly relationship. might be a bit inconvenient if you do not have a car. But it is no problem to cycle around the area.I am wondering if they could accept a credit card. - I knew it, so I do not complain though. dogs -wonderful and trained dogs, but I do not like animals. Fact we had to pay in cash in 2008. hard to find when not familiar with area. Poor breakfast, lack of modern telephone facilities, you must pay cashfor your stay, poor swimming pool facilties - Hotel does not delivergive the price/room (poor value). the breackfast offerd was very poor .there were much much better hotels near by, cheaper and much nicer,in every way.

The bar offers beverages and a good local wine list that you can enjoy on the lawns, in the Grand Salon or Salon Rouge. The Salon Rouge also features a huge flat-screen TV and DVD set that can be used to entertain children with the many DVDs available free of charge.
The owners of the chateau are also the proud owners of 2 lovely poodles, Louis and Marie-Antoinette. If dogs are disagreeable to you, please advise the chateau and they will be kept away for the duration of your stay.

The Château De Perreux does not accept payment by credit card for stays shorter than 2 weeks.
The Château will accept payment in US dollars, in UK Sterling, in euro, in cash cheques and travellers cheques.

Château de Perreux is conveniently located 2 kilometres from the famous town of Amboise, 35 minutes from Tours, and 50 minutes by TGV from Paris.
The Valley of Kings boasts numerous castles and excellent wine caves, which you can visit all year round.
Room information details
The elegant suites are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and are accessible by stairs. There is no lift in the castle.
All prices are for 2 people sharing.
As not all rooms can accommodate extra beds, please advise the chateau of the number of children that are accompanying you and the number of extra beds or cots you will need.
