The view of the Old Port was spectacular, huge tub in bathroom, wonderful beds, big room, brand new bathroom, air conditioning was perfect, staff was professional and friendly, It has the best view of the whole port of any hotel. Great location close to Vieux Port and L'abbaye St.Victor with easy access to good local shops. Rooms large and tastefully decorated with lovely pictures and unusual objets d'art. Quiet courtyard garden for breakfast and relaxing. Mme. Depieds very helpful. Recommend Bar de l'Abbaye round the corner for quick but good lunch and wonderful sunset views in the evening.

We stayed at Mama Shelter - Marseille for 2 nights. The rooms itself were full of light and very clean. It is modern and styled for the minimalist, but you pretty much have all you need. The bar and restaurant downstairs is great - good atmosphere and ambience. Food was nice but a little over priced for what you get. Staff were also very attentive

It's a great place to stay when in Marseille if you like to be able to do some of your own meals at home. It's close to the train station but with views out to the water from the upper rooms.
While it's in the city it is only a 5 - 10 minute walk downhill to Joliette from where you you can take a bus straight to the beach at L'Estaque.within 20 minutes. Very comfortable and quiet although works currently going on nearby.

I liked everything from the hotel.There are friendly French staff and a lovely and funny Chinese lady receptionist. The hotel looks new and fresh. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was always fiilling with more food, that not happens with some hotels that sells continental breakfast.
It worth to book in advance and pay a cheap price.there is a good supermaket near and the hospital is just next door :)

Everything you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Clean, friendly employees, felt very safe. We were just passing through, so the location was great as it's just across the street from the central train station, which also has the metro, so you can get to anywhere else in the city from there with a quick subway ride. -
