  We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. This is truly a 5 star B&B. Mike welcomed us with a glass of rose wine on the patio, and told us about places to eat and visit. Our room was spotlessly clean and bright, and had complimentary water, and tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast croissants were fresh and delicious, and there... vad folk säger » was also a choice of breads, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts and boiled eggs. There is a communal breakfast table indoors, but also three individual t - A warm welcome from the host. The house is literally in the middle of a vineyard - just off the crossroads outside Monbazillac and easy-to-miss. There are 3 double rooms, all well-decorated and clean, each with en-suite. A very peaceful and comfortable house, and a comfy bed. A French breakfast is included in the price. This b&b is literally 5 minutes from Bergerac airport, so perfect as a final stopover.

  Well Pascal made it for us. He was such a nice guy and great company, not that he intruded at all. We learned more about French culture and social life from Pascal than any guide book. Laurence, his wife, is just lovely too but we saw more of Pascal so that is why we are raving about him. Their place is supurb. Bergerac is a great place and a great base - We stayed for one night here on our way home from a holiday at this charming b&b and wish it was for longer. The room was enormous and restored to a very high level, the bed especially comfortable and shower fantastic. The whole house was full of character, peaceful and very conveniently located for the city centre. More than anything else though, Pascal and Laurence made us feel very welcome and offered help and guidance above and beyond what was expected - including Pascal going out of hi

  An overnight stay in Bergerac was selected as part of a drive to SW France, and Le Colombier de C&R looked intriguing as a potential stay. I would recommend a visit to historic Bergerac and a stay with Betty as a memorable experience (for the right reasons!) without reservation. A 'quirky' house full of atmosphere and history, and what a love... vad folk säger » ly welcome from the owner - "welcome to my home" said Betty - and we felt privileged to be her guests!! Try and reserve the bedroom with the balcony, - The 'chambre' was charming. Very different from the normal accommodation, slightly crazy but it provided all you could need and more. The balcony with hammock was am amazing touch in the middle of the city. Very good breakfast and helpful charming host. Also the city is very interesting and a great place to visit.

  Ok, this is going to be a hard review to get right. The hotel is not swanky, there's no swimming pool or room service, and if you had a cat to swing in the room it would have to be a very small cat indeed. The pillows are awfull and theres no aircon. But......we loved it. There are a lot more better looking hotels in Bergerac but there is somethin... vad folk säger » g about this one that just makes you love it. Its above a typical french bar for starters. Go in anytime and you are surrounded by locals who greet yo - The B+B is above a very typical, very french tabac shop / bar (which closes at 7.30pm) and both are run by the non-English speaking French couple. I found them really friendly and helpful and it was so nice staying somewhere very local. It was the cheapest place I found to stay in Bergerac and it was very basic. But it was clean, quiet, had a great shower, good free wifi and only 5 minute walk from the historic centre. What more do you need?
