We liked everything about this resort. We loved living inside a Hutong and walking the alleys of the Hutong. The staff spoke quite excellent English, and after being in 9 different hotels within three weeks, this hotel was the gold find of the trip. The owner painted us a beautiful calligraphy expressing welcome. The updated room had one of the nicest showers I have ever enjoyed. We would love to return some day and would highly recommend this quaint hotel to anyone planning a trip to China.
alla recensioner » Perfect position, nice rooms, everything works, central, but not loud, 2 min from the pedestrian zone, easy to find. Some main attractions are in walking distance ( also for elder guests) who doesnt like the chinese breakfast within a 5min walk in the pedestr. Zona is a nice coffee shop with excellent coffee and croissants. The location is good, which is just nearby the Guan Qian Jie. The environment of the hotel is pretty nice where we have a garden in the middle. There was several nice place for meals nearby the hotel. Overall impression is worth for the value. Great location; Guanqian Pedestrain Street around the conner; good restaurants within walking distance. 10 mins walk to Pinjiang Old Street. Close to bus routes Nice courtyards in hotel. Great location, close to many shops and restaurants and to the famous gardens of Suzhou. To the railway station of Suzhou it is only 15 minutes by taxi. We enjoyed the style of the rooms and the little gardens everywhere. Charming environment, convenient location.Very professional service. Hotel has beautiful Suzhou style garden. Right next to the pedestrian shopping street with lots of restaurants and shops. Close to subway and lots of bus lines right in front of the hotel. They gave us a discount (more than half) when we checked-in which was a big surprised to us. We stayed at the Garden View Hotel two years ago and liked it enough to book again for a return visit. Location is good and hotel lay-out, with interior gardens and courtyards, is attractive. Near to Guanqian jie where food is readily available, and for shopping. Also near to Humble Administrator, Lion Gardens, and Metro Line 1. Very value for money Good facilities & room ammenities. Good cable TV with some English channels. WiFi access in room. The facilities are really nice. Nothing. Because of the garden and the canals there are mosquitos..... In summer... air-con not controllable. Staff can´t speak English. one of the the rooms had a very strong smell of humidity we could not get rid of. breakfast could be improved. nothing. waited a little long when checking in and out. Really nothing!. Always remember - you are on tour so accept that you do not speak the local lingo either. No English speaking staff but this is China hotel.No breakfast, Good WiFi, not the best Managed hotel ! Do NOT use the Black Taxi's rip off ! No city maps available so what do you do with NO MAPs in a hotel !! Receptions a bit slow to do anything - cannot think "out the box" - as said not well MANAGED, a new manager could turn this place around in a few months. This hotel is definitely not a 4-star hotel. Room was very old, needs renovating. Carpet was not clean and TV was very old, only few channels available. Cleaning lady always forget to leave bottle water or towels in the room after cleaning. Front desk staff had no knowledge of anything. It's very difficult to get a taxi. Since our first visit, the hotel has changed owners, a change for the worse, it seems. The place looks used and tired, walls are bare and badly in need of fresh paint, carpets dirty. Staff is friendly enough, but do not speak English. It looks like this is being turned into a Chinese budget hotel. The rooms are old and need some upgrading. The heater needs some upgrade, the rooms carpet also need upgrade. THe rooms conditions looks dirty. Poor staff service (although I'd blame their training rather than attittude). Carpets, furniture cleanliness can be better. Did not get the room that I booked for. The staff is awful, they didn't pay attention to us at all! They didn't have any map either to provide basic tourist information.
