The hotel is very clean and well located near west lake. The breakfast is huge with a lot of chinese food. Delicious. The staff is very nice and helpfull but their english is not so good so its better to speak mandarin with them. Great value, pillow menu, near to metro, reputable restaurant famous for dong po rou, extra effort by staff in leaving a weather forecast note on the bed.

Good experience of local Chinese life, no other expatriates were staying at the hotel during our stay. Hotel is situated in the heart of Hangzhou-city, very close to Xihu (West lake). Rooms are quite good and comfortable^ price is reasonable. The staff are friendly and especially the doorman is extremely helpful, attentive, and well mannered. The rooms were not ready at the checkin time. We had to wait for 45 minutes. Staff is slow. Location near to West lake. The location the price. window view. Indoor smoking, their shower gel and shampoo came in big lux household bottles so not too sure about their hygiene - would prefer individually packed small bottles, no gym or pool. We asked for non-smoking floor, but they still put us in a room which had people smoking right next room to us. Little English spoken. Check-in could be faster. Arrived at the hotel just after 2pm and had to wait half an hour for the room to be ready. The Internet connection is slow and always get disconnected. Staff is inexperienced in English, especially for check-in, check-out. It is 15-20 minutes walk from West Lake, and there is no Lake view. Ask for rooms facing the main street, the back view is appalling. Rooms need to be renovated and are cramped. Had a problem with airconditioning one night, it was on heat when the temp required aircon, other night was fine. I was waiting more than two hours after 2:00 p.m. while my room would ready (they must provide room before 2:00 p.m) No any excuse or compliment. Than i had to pay in cash for my breakfasts 'corse they 'did not find my deposit" of 1 thousand US$ ; So personnel is very unfriendly and react too slowly. The hotel is central heating and it has been set to 26 degrees, the only thing you can do is to switch the air-cond. off. The window can be slide open for 6 inch apart only, the room is still too warm and stuffy for us. Great location. small but cean rooms. We are one group of 10 persons. wanted to go Silk Museum ask the hotel staff to get a Taxi, but instead the taxi sent us to another Silk Center at a totally different direction from our intended designation. Very bad impression, will not consider to stay next time. It is more a local Hotel. For a non Chinese it is not the appropriate Hotel. No Gym. smell of smoke everywhere. They want to give me smaller room if I did not bring the document that showing my reservation room is 45 m2.
