Being a relatively new hotel it is all very well presented and clean. Staff are polite and quite friendly, but you may have difficulty being understood in English. I was in the wrong airport needed wifi they offered that free and brought me a drink i looked online and booked last available single room however it was gone by the time they received my reservation so i got a free upgrade at already top price for the room. It was raining heavily and so was a nice evening and morning stay...

Walking distance to Terminal 1, Metro station to Terminal 2 is also walking distance (just a five minute ride to Terminal 2). Great value for the money. -
Very close to airport, but have in mind this Hotel is located at
Terminal 1. You will need to take a shuttle bus if arriving in
Terminal 2.

The good thing about sticking to the same hotel chain is that you know what to expect! Same comments as for hotels in Changzhou and Wuxi!
Recommended even if you have business/sightseeing/shopping downtown: Xintiandi and Nanjing Lu are only a 30mn direct subway ride away (line 10), while staying in the neighbourhood is amazingly peaceful and relax

I wanted to be near the airport and was only there one night so can't give a true comment but I fopuind the staff to be attentive and rooms clean but only went for this as we got a special deal at approx 400 Y plus 100 Y for breakfast. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful. I travel a lot all over the world and the Howard Johnson was one of the nicest places I have ever been. I have paid double the money for less than half the room. I was extremely pleased with my stay. If I am ever in Shanghai again I will definitely stay there! I was 100% satisfied.
