The fantastic beach location and all the rooms face onto the beach and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The connection to the first nations community. The beds were very comfortable. Did not eat there so cannot comment on the food service - we were just out too much to be there for meals. Would like to receive any promotional rates emails as I would like to stay again if I could afford it.
alla recensioner » The history of the Tin-wis was very interesting - it was the site of a residential school in the past and the First Nation people have done an amazing job of turning this place into a beautiful resort area for many to enjoy! the staff was very friendly and helpful and we also enjoyed the Bistro on site. The food was excellent!. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room and view of the ocean and grounds was lovely. Restaurant was very conveniently located with pretty decent food. After a long drive it is nice not to have to run out and look for a place to eat. Loved how this hotel was located along McKenzie beach. View is amazing. Grounds are well kept. The decor of the restaurant was really fitting to Tofino lifestyle, very tastefully decorated and food was great. Would definitely go back. The view from our balcony was stunning; the grounds well kept; and the waiter in the restaurant deserves kudos all round. He was attentive while not being intrusive, and as friendly and helpful as you could ask for. Good folk. The location was fabulous! Loved that we could bring our dog along. Our room was on the ground floor and we just had to open the sliding doors to the grassy area and then steps to the beach. Nice to have a BBQ to use. You need another category for travelling groups - adult relatives. Can't really think of anything!. Unfortunately the hot tub was under renovation. Would have been nice to know this ahead of time as we look forward to a soak after a long drive. Nothing I didn't like. I hope to be back and have already recommended it to other people. Nothing comes to mind. The rain - can't be helped! Shower head that whistled in 206 Bathroom very small for tall people. No Roy Vicker paintings! At his gallery in Tofino, he told us that he used to have a studio on this site - in the current staff quarters I believe. You have an important connection to a wonderful artist, which should be celebrated. The cost involved with parking at Long Beach. - limited restaurant hours. Matraaes were a litle too firm. Front desk staff were not helpful. Double billed for stay on my credit card and the staff member who "handles these things" isn't in today. You have only one staff member who can deal with credit card issues?. would be nice to have a common area to sit and visit rather than just in your hotel room. No coffee in the rotunda. Sat and waited for the restaurant to open in the A.M. The weather and the room location, rm 408, has a blocked view of the ocean, otherwise it was just beautiful. Gotta come back another time and hope the weather is nicer. Nothing. They dont make your bed the Spas was close for renovation !!!!. bed was a little too hard for me. A little pricey. bathroom was very small We went for breakfast in the dining room. Food wasnt great. Hashbrowns were very dry. price, breakfast overcooked. The restaurant. We complained about our meal and had no response at all. the housekeeping in our room was substandard and we told the checkout lady that. I was overbilled and the booking got messed up. I still think I got overcharged for my first night and I had to get my bill adjusted for my second night. Restaraunt was terrible. Service was dismal and food was mediocre. Understaffed, poor quality service and food quality was substandard. Dinner to a large extent ruined our expereince at the property. In addition, I was double billed for my room at two different rates. "Garden" outside room was a mess. Patio to room was only swept when we requested. The rooms were nothing special. The view and location were lovely but the room was not at all worth the price. The Tin Wis is not an hotel but a glorified motel. We were in a room next to the vending machine and ice machine which seemed to be in use throughout the night. This motel trades on it's proximity to the beach and is not worth the money. Fixtures and fittings tired.
