The food was delicious (particularly the lobster). The staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. This is the best boutique hotel I have ever been staying in.

  The location is just perfect. It is right in the center of the old city center (upper city). A perfect location to explore Salvador. The area the hotel is in is newly renovated and is safe to walk around freely during days and nights. Staff speaks really good English and are extremely helpful. We went for a professional capoeira show in the evening just about 5 minutes from the hotel – supposingly one of the best in Brazil. - The hotel is charming. The staff are among the nicest, most helpful and accommodating I've found in all my travelling. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, the bed could have slept 4 people! The location of the hotel was great for tourists, shopping (although touristy shopping mostly) and taxis were abundant and within a 1 minute walk. Good restaurants were plentiful within walking distance as well.

  We stayed at the Solar do Carmo for 2 nights in March. The hotel is situated quite close to the old town on a street of renovated colonial style buildings. Some of the surrounding houses have yet to be renovated but don't be put off by the exterior. Inside the hotel is a lovely spacious reception area, decorated in a traditional style. It was a lovely spacious room with a nice balcony overlooking the ba - I cannot imagine a hotel that could better reflect the most charming aspects of Salvador. Levi provided the friendliest service I have experienced in my extensive worldwide travels. I strongly agree with all the positive things that Christina of Carnago, Italy has reported in her review.

  The staff was extremely friendly and patiently answered our questions. The terrace and pool are very nice. You can easily go to centre by bus and even from/to airport. - La vista al mar desde nuestra habitacion.
