The place is in a relatively safe neighborhood, if you can say such thing for Rio at all, the staff speaks english and are very helpful. The place is clean and almost has no guests so we were alone in 6 out of 9 nights in a 8-bed dormitory. Many bathrooms, big TV screen at the lobby, 2 PCs to use Internet, Wi-Fi is also good. -

The Hostel is in a wonderful mansion with big gardens and a pool. The family stilll live in the house and are very friendly and speak excellent English. We sat with them and watched football on the TV, drank some beers and the dad orded a pizza for us- it felt more like a home stay then a hostel. -
