  This was a business trip, so I wanted an easy morning drive to the Doel industrial estate instead of coping with Antwerp city traffic. But B&B Arenberghoeve is so lovely I would be happy to stay there anytime. It is behind a farmhouse in the midst of fields, peaceful, with long views from the upper windows.   We were made very welcome at the hotel and being from another country this always helps. A family run b&b so you get the personal touch that you don't recieve in bigger hotels.   The landlady was very kind to wait for me late in the evening on Saturday. The hotel is a masterpiece, I felt like being back in the past with all this old-fashioned furniture, paintings on the walls. Clean, warm and comfortable room. Angelique respected our request for a large firm bed and was kind enough to change our room after the first night. Good breakfast selection. Close to motorway connections and plenty of space to park. Nice bar/restaurant within walking distance.

  The hotel is an attractive, nicely restored mansion that is close to train station ( walk in 15 minutes) and the tram or bus to get to the old city is only a block away. Take tram 4 from the train station if you do not want to walk to the hotel. Get off at the 3rd stop then walk one block. After a day of walking, my wife was not up to walking to any local restaurants so he - The reception by the staff was very friendly and informative. The building was fancy and the rooms are large. The hotel is situated in a large mansion which used to be a number of things in the past and is nicely transformed into a (mere) fifteen room accommodation. The king- sizey bed was excellent and the bathroom was nice. We also had a great time in the City of Ghent, which we had a nice walk to (about 20-30 minutes) and returned from by tram. Quite difficult to find hotel parking due to one way systems and pedestrian streets but hotel staff were brilliant with directions. - The location in the town centre.
