  This is our second stay at the old convict station. We returned because we love the sense of history surrounding the place and the way this has been preserved by the owners. Also, we found our hosts, Lynton and Lorella to be very friendly and helpful--and they also provided an outstanding breakfast.   Accommodation was very well appointed, spacious, spotlessly clean and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Personal bbq and outdoor setting provided with access to hosts' vegetable and herb garden. Secure access to lake. Hosts very welcoming and provided very useful information for our stay in Taranna and also for the remainder of our holiday in Tasma... vad folk säger » nia. Would highly recommend Abs by the Bay to anyone visiting Tasmania, in particular, Port Arthur. - Fridge, flyscreens, great shower, extra cushions on bed, alarm clock, Lipton Tea, placements of outdoor seating to get best morning and afternoon sun, TV. After staying in backpackers for couple of nights, it was luxury! Also the recommendations made for a terrific evening enjoying fish & chips at the Blowhole.

  Owners were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with (unfortunately we found the majority of Tasmanians just seemed to tolerate tourists) and went out of their way to suggest other things we might like to do in the area and invited us to feel free to explore their property. Location was close to Port Arthur and surrounded by bush and wildlife. Very comfy, lovely open fire place. Was self contained and had everything we needed for our stay. We stayed 2 nights whilst we did the Port Arthur historic sight.. It was very cold when we stayed in Tassie but the electric blankets were great and the fire was perfect.. Lovely owners, very friendly.. The cottage was exceptionally clean..
