  The scenery was fantastic, it is an idyllic spot in Hunter, walking distance to a couple of wineries and we spotted kangaroos on our stroll! The hosts were very helpful and more than willing to pass on information about the locality. The dog on the property was beautiful and very friendly. The breakfast provided was very generous. The bbq at the back of the cottage would have been handy if w - Our Host and Hostess went above and beyond for us, offering to drive us to our friends wedding when we couldn't get a taxi, and baking us fresh banana bread for afternoon tea. Absolutely gorgeous location, excellent personal service, reasonable rates for the area and a very friendly dog that will greet you on arrival! We would definitely return.

  Finding Thistle Hill was like finding gold! We had beautifully appointed accommodation Nd the grounds are stunning! The gourmet breakfast is to die for. Baked goods made on the premises! Peter was so,obliging and when we could not get a pizza delivered due to bad weather conditions, he prepared a beautiful cheese platter for us! I have visited Hunter Valley previously and have to say this Guesthouse is one of the top stays I have experienced. Beautiful decor with attention to details, Thistle Hill grounds are stunning, breakfast very tasty with great choice of food, and Carol's baked pears just delicious!! We will definitely come back later this year.

  My wife and I spent two wonderful nights at Splinters while exploring the many wineries in the Hunter Valley. Their very comfortable and well appointed lodging is situated right in the middle of the many excellent boutique wineries in the area. Having only three rooms and two self contained cottages it is very relaxing, quiet and pampering. Bookin... vad folk säger » g ahead is a must and is handled very efficiently by Bobby the owner who will also send on a number of excellent recommendations for the best restaura - Bobby the proprieter met us when we arrived and showed us the room and explained the property. She recommended and booked a restaurant for dinner (and lunch the next morning). The fireplace was already to go. There was cheese and crackers, brownies, breakfast supplies, wine, port, chocolates and a coffee machine all there included in the price. The place was beautiful and the outlook peaceful.
