My favourite hostel where I always stay in Sydney, probably stayed there for 2 months in total. Location is perfect, staff is friendly, rooms are good and clean in general. Scary Canary is downstares and that is one awesome bar! Always make some great friends when staying at X Base! -

Customer service was superb. Soraya at reception was especially helpful
and went out of her way to keep family in one room after I changed
booking at the last minute. Awesome location, next to central railway
and monorail.

I usually stay here when I visit Sydney. It's right in the heart of the CBD and very cheap. We booked a twin room and were given a set of bunk bed with a double at the bottom and a single at the top. The room was spacious and the location was ideal. A nice, clean, modern hostel. Bathrooms/showers were in good condition and clean. A great location close to central station, so it's easy to catch a train to the airport/blue mountains etc. Staff were really friendly too.

The communal area was huge with free wifi and good sized kitchen, really nice roof terrace but would be even better if wifi was available up there, but then I suppose it would be packed every day! The staff were always friendly and happy to help with any concerns or questions. I will be back here if I'm ever in Sydney again!! -

I was only there for a very short time (not even 12hours), but the staff at reception were very friendly and check in was seamless; the bed I had was comfortable enough, with clean sheets (although the top bunk was a bit squeaky!). The staff were wonderful, very nice and helpful and the location is ideal being close to Central Station and all forms of public transport to get around easily. We also found that the guests there were great too, they all seemed to be really nice and friendly people. All up a really good place place to stay and would definitely book with them again. :)

Laget var bra. Nara till allt - Good location, good price, nice and quiet. - despite the exterior of the hotel (that was not really gorgeous, to be honest), rooms and communal areas are very nice (and new!!)

The hotel staff were extremely friendly.
The location was really good and if you're feeling super lazy you can pay 44 dollars for a week long pass for all the public transport in the city centre.
The staff worked really hard to try and keep the place clean, shame that was ruined five minutes later by some disgustingly filthy people! -

Hop-on, Hop-off boat tour of the harbors and saved us $. Very clean. Big
tv room with DVDs available. Super bars-restaurants nearby. Food at The
Glenmore was really good with big screen tvs for sports.
