The Stockade Inn is a historical property, and she is stunningly beautiful. I loved the architectural detail that has lovingly been restored. I was regularly told "Yes!" by the staff when I asked to peek into yet another room (dining room, Billiards room, banquet room) to look at it because it was so beautiful.
The staff are very welcoming. We arrived with our backpacks, after having traveled all night on the train. As any "good" hotel should, we were welcomed as if we were royalty. The staf. все обзоры »
An absolutely extraordinary, incomparable experience. All staff (desk, waitress, housekeeping) were engaging and very helpful. The entire meal was superior in every way. My lady loved the location, the historic preservation of the inn, the wall photographs of local history and people. We were a short walk to State Street and toured the Proctor theatre, finding a vibrant cultural and historical vibe about town we did not otherwise know. We will be back, in a heartbeat.
Classic 'old style' hotel in the heart of Schenectady's
stockade. Bar and lounge had large comfortable leather chairs.
Room was generously sized and clean and bathroom was completely modern and updated.
Hotel and neighborhood were VERY quiet.
We need to preserve historic treasures like these. My wife and I will be staying here from now on when we visit Schenectady.
Room was wonderful with bed, old furniture..and one felt like one was back two hundred years with the bathroom. Restaurant and the evening meal was superb and well served by staff.
A hotel that is a great place for a romantic night. Adequate parking in the rear of the hotel..

This historic building is almost 200 years old and is very well kept. We stayed in the "older" section, Rm. 20, which offered a KS bed and shower. Billiards room offered three pool tables. Lovely walk through historic neighbourhood.

The only drawback was the lack of guest laundry services.
The drain in our bathroom sink worked slowly, but that's all I have. It was a wonderful, wonderful stay.
We checked in late (after 8pm) and I had to find the night manager (very
nice) to check in. She was in another room and neither the bar nor front
desk was being monitored.
Smaller bed pillows could be offered as those in the bed were extra big and high. Internet connection in room 36 was a bit hazy but that was rectified by going down to the salon or living room.
Not able to have a coffee in my room without going downstairs to lobby.
Ice for room; no ice bucket and no idea of how to get any.
Parking was a problem on Thursday evening when the Jazz group brought a lot of visitors to the Inn...maybe set aside on area strictly for the Inn guests with rooms.
Sketchy people near bus stop.

Had to unplug the radio from behind the bed to plug in CPAP
Continental breakfast was abysmal.

Difficult to get luggage up the stairs into the building.
Less than hotel qualty bed linens.
Poor view from room, no fridge, room was double booked by accident and another customer entered our room! Management comped us a bottle of wine (at MY suggestion!).

The staff was very unfriendly. Had a jazz band in the lounge tables were reserved for outside guests. Will not stay there again.
