The pub is an old coaching station retaining its charms and the staff were excellent and friendly from arrival. The food served that evening was traditional pub fare and was very well priced, presented and tasty. Even though it was Saturday night and full there was no waiting for service, or the food, and the staff were attentive throughout. The bedrooms are comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Full marks and we will be staying there again. все обзоры »
The landlord was very accomdating. If we didnt have something he made sure we had and he also let his staff know for future reference. He kept an eye one everyone making sure they were comfortable and the waiting staff were excelllent food was brought out prompt and the food was cooked to perfection. Would have any trouble reccommending this inn.
The staff were fantastic, they were very efficient, attentive, well manored and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. The menu and quality of the food was extremely good and plentiful, and at a very reasonable price. The rooms were clean and comfortable and spacious. We will certainly be back there soon.
The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and seemed genuinely interested in all of the guests. He also offered us the shed to lock our motorbikes as soon as he noticed we had them which was appreciated.

Food
Location.
Friendly, helpful staff.
The pub was lively.
So so.
Breakfast.
No complaints what so ever.
The only thing I could possibly find fault with and that was at a push was the room I was staying in oakdale room was right above the kitchen so it was very hot in the early evening. However the staff acknowledged this and gave me a fan to use and offered to go into the room just before the evening rush and opeb the window to try and bring the temperature down.
Cannot fault the Red Lion on anything.
Nothing to fault.
Lack of a lift. Bedroom lighting rather poor. Lack of heating in bedroom & breakfast room - although when I complained on leaving I was told that addirtional heating could have been supplied had I complained earlier.
Bathroom window appeared to be unopenable, but again I was told later that it opened by sliding! Unusual in a sash window - a sign would have been helpful.
Room too warm, but easily resolved.
Decor a bit tired in places and dusty too. This was however reflected in the age of the building and price and would not deter me from staying again.
Shower room was very small, but it did the job.
bit of road noise which they can't help!.
The shared toilets and showers were tiny and the Standard Double was small, with the bed pushed up against the wall - but what do expect for the money.
rooms without en-suite, however i upgraded to a room with en-suite.
Nothing.
Church bells all night long.
Heavy traffic because of its position on the main road, but we had a room away from most traffic noise.
rooms could be cleaner (dusty).
It was all good.
When budgets allow it would be nice if the decoration of the single bedroom, loo's and showers could be updated. This is not a major problem - I would still return. I am sure this is already on the "to do" list.
Church bells as quite close...I slept fine but my partner was up because of the bells!! He's a light sleeper!!.
Nothing.
Bathroom outside bedroom.
Shared facilities (shower, toilet)
Room very small and church bell chiming out the hour through the night.
The room was extremely small and cramped with no room for luggage. Did
not like having to share bathroom and toilet facilities. Both were a
little bit tacky. Bed was not the most comfortable.
it havenot wishroom at room,Room back has Cemetery.
Matresses were very poor, lumpy items, making sleep very difficult. Toilet poor, with no washbasin! Shower worked reasonably well, but was not even close to being clean.
Decor & furnishings
Facilities
Uncomfortable.
Dated, shabby room. Stained bedding, dirty and dusty room and bathroom. Cane bedstead unravelling, black mould under taps, stained sink. Had to cover my pillowcase before I slept on it. Breakfast served on plastic plates. Food appalling.
The pub toilets were disgusting. The room smelt and felt dirty. The room was tiny and right next to the road. Although we had booked we did not stay so paid and moved on. Put this down to experience. It is aimed at the backpackers and travelling workmen.
So so.
The rest.
We booked a Double Room, but in fact it was Double Room with shared facilities which was not clearly declared in the Room name. The room was tiny, smelly and very very tired. Walls are thin. Shared facilities were clean but smelly with no toilet paper and cigarette marks. Our worst stay for a long time.
This place is absolutely disgusting and 1800! It wasn't worth £10
let alone £40. I left and wouldn't stay there - I wouldn't stay
there if they paid me! The bedding was dirty and had what looked like
poo on the pillow. Never again will I ever book a hotel on this website.
