The staff were very welcoming despite the fact they were preparing for a wedding reception. Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the bar service was very prompt despite the number of wedding guests. Glad we made this choice for our overnight stay. We enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff, nothing seemed to much trouble. The eclectic mix of rooms to unwind and relax in. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the bedrooms were very clean and comfortable .

Friendliness. Very happy to help in any way Rooms decor We were contacted to check we knew the bar and restaurant were shut before our stay. The hotel made sure menus and crockery were available. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the breakfast was included in the price but we also purchased an evening meal in the pub. Accommodation was clean and adequate. And then dinner was served.... All I can say is mmmmmm they can cook a good English Pub Meal and I have tried many in the last few weeks this hotel is number one for Pub Grub!. The historical building, the staff, the breakfast, the bedroom and the warmth. The staff were most helpful responding to our needs immediately and offering assistance. I have stayed there two years running for a conference and found it a great place to stay - welcoming, helpful and efficient staff and a large comfortable room. Lovely clean room. Very friendly helpful staff on the desk. Considering the upheaval they have at the moment it was all very good. We have rated this hotel excellent in all six fields, nothing more to say than you should stay there if you ever get the chance. The room was very comfortable and clean. Food is excellent. My sister in law has ms and it was difficult to move her into the main party area. The very noisy boiler next to our room. Bathroom a bit jaded but functional. No bin in the bathroom. Non-cooked breakfast items a little limited. The upper floor noise ( feet stormy!). Room 17. Very loud noise coming from what I would presume is the pipes. My parents where staying in another room and they didn't hear a peep. Nothing. Rooms are a bit dated needs the refurb treatment done to restaurant Breakfast service a bit slow. Bathrooms could do with an update. Bathroom a bit dated and shower not the best Thin walls meant it was a bit noisy. the fire alarm went off for no reason at around 10.30 and then it went off again at around 1.00am. the materess was really quite hard and wasnt very comfortable but apart from that i cannot fault it!. Noisy wedding in marquee over road, but not fault of hotel. was alittle noisy with guests going to room late at night, but we were only their one night so cannot say if this was normal. was not happy with my evening meal. I had a Roquefort salad with no Roquefort!. A hand rail on bath wall would have been nice for older people. Could here snorer in next room. The accommodation now needs updating as it is tired but am sure that will be next on the list. The room price reflects this though so no complaints on that front.. The place really felt as if it needed a makeover. E.g. varnish stains on side desk (circular). Bathroom was dated...some dark mars on showers. Breakfast tasted as though it had been made hours before I placed the order. The location was quite far from town and the pub bar was being refurbished, but we were told this prior to our arrival. Room needs update. Plumming made noises. Nothing. Low ceiling in the pub. An annoying pump noise that could be heard in the room. Very dated decor Hard uncomfortable bed Tiny bathroom Bar & Restaurant closed for refurbishment. The images from the hotel are not the reality. Cobwebs, not hot water in the morning, telefax-machine didn't work. No thank you again!.
