We found the BandB extremely clean (the bathrooms were really nice and spotless) and charming (the room was extremely hairy and big) , full of life and well managed. My continental breakfast was fresh and attractive and the location of BandB is very central. Definitely recomended expecially to young couples. Thanks!!!. the evening disco. central location. Centrality; cleanness, friendliness of staff, great breakfast. все обзоры »
Very good location from the city centre, and a very delicious breakfast! Beautiful up to standards rooms and the pub/eating facilities downstairs also..and clean!. Friendly staff. Location right in the Cambridge historical city centre, nice and comfort accommodation, excellent full English breakfast, possibility to store luggage in the hotel after check-out (till the afternoon). The breakfast the following morning was amazing!!! The room was located in the centre of the town centre, and the staff were extremely helpful.the room was comfy and clean, and the bandb is right in the town center. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. The room was very clean and so were the shared bathrooms. The breakfast was very good and all staff polite and helpful. Staff and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The location was fantastic, in the centre of town and very close to the bus/coach station. Bedroom was nice and warm (snow outside the window) and clean, tidy and cozy. Great to be right in the centre of Cambridge. Really comfortable bed. Lovely breakfasts!. Very personal and friendly service and wi-fi access was great. Very good central position
Good choice of breakfasts. room was clean and staff were very kind. Staff, bar/restaurant, food, location. Staff and breakfast. During breakfest service, the staff was nice and polite, and tried to satisfy our different requests.. The place of the hotel was centric..Very friendly and personal feel to the place, coupled with excellent food and service. friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast, good atmosphere. convenience. Its directly above a night club! Which can be a good thing.Easy access to the centre of Cambridge. location. It's located right across the street from Emmanuel College, Cambridge. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Very Friendly Staff. Good Location. Good Breakfast. Small but nice clean rrom. The location, the beds. Near to centre. Check with this hotel whether they have an 'evening event' b efore staying here or you might not sleep till 4 in the morning. The Castle is perfectly located in the city centre surrounded by a cinema and lots of different restaurants. The location near the historic city centre.Close to town centre. the breakfast.Pleasant staff, especially at breakfast when the waitress was very helpful. Good central position. It was centrally located. It was central. Not a lot. We were not welcomed very well and the breakfast was so bad. cold and poor quality. The staff were not very friendly. Found it very over priced for what we were actually given!. I booked it to be near emmaunual college where I had an interview. I was given a free drink whilst waiting to check in.A little noisy during the night but not a big issue definitely. Employees were not so professionel with service, we had to ask ourselves for the frontdoor-key for the night. The girl who checked us in forgot to remind us of a doorcode so we had to ring the owner in the middle of the night to ask for the doorcode. It turned out it was on a piece of paper between our bathtowels but a reminder while handing us the frontdoorkey would be nice. The rooms do not have En suite bathrooms, other than this all was good. The bandb is above a bar and the night i slept there was a party, so it was a bit noisy out at the street. It was Saturday night, when there is music in the bistro/pub downstairs which went on till late - could have made it difficult for light sleepers. Didn't trouble us. Staff were unable to deal with an emergency situation when required.Possibly all staff should be made aware of procedure if a guest becomes ill and requires emergency attention.Did not realise it was not en suite. Had your site shown this we woukld not have stayed. Was in the top floor so no noise from the bar, but no WiFi signal (with my computer anyway). Toilet/shower/sink located down two sets of stairs. However majority of rooms were closer to the facilities than mine.
Breakfast was nothing sensational and included roast potatoes on a full english breakfast.I stayed on Friday and Saturday night. If you can't cope with loud noises, don't stay those nights. There seems to be weekly club nights those days till the early hours. This information was in Booking.com details - I just missed it. I would still recommend the Castle for price, comfort and location. It would be better if breakfast could be served before 8.30am (say from 8am) as if you are ravelling on to business meetings 8.30 can be too late. Great deal of noise from street till early hours, gone 3am on a wednesday night before it got quiet.
Sound proofing between rooms is very poor
No long stay car parking anywhere near, ended up parking near train station. would have preferred if the rooms were onsuite. As a family room the second bed could have been bigger or included a sofa bed - not big enough for an 8 and 10 year old. Drinks a tad pricey so did not choose to drink in the bar. bathrooms not ensuite. Lots of late night street noise.Disco till 3 am. Shared toilets and bathroom.Rooms could do with a few extra touches just to make it feel more professional. Biscuits as well as tea/coffee in room. Better tuned in TV - possibly digital soon with impending switch. Shared bathroom/toilet fine but perhaps shampoo/shower gel dispensers on wall by shower/bath - just in case you forget some. sharing a baathroom and mum was old and found the stairs difficult althuogh i informed the hotel before arrival, no suggestions were offered. Serving breakfast does not start before 08:30h; this is inconvenient. Its directly above a night club! Which can be a bad thing. That you had to go down two flights of stairs to get to the bathroom, Staff serving breakfast were not very friendly. have to share bathroom. Only one shower for 7 rooms (14 guests?), and it's cleaned (and closed) at 9:30 AM. Supposedly another is being built, but check first. Bring your own shampoo as well. A continental breakfast is included, but it doesn't start until at least 8:30, so it's of little use for 9:00 AM meetings. Bring earplugs, since your room will be above a pub. Also, you'll need your own alarm clock. You are staying over a Bar, so the noise is not stopped by the windows. Light sleepers, this is not for you. Only one Bathroom for may rooms during renovation. There was a Brazil night on the night we stayed with very loud music til3.00am. Twomfloors down to the loo and a bit nervous about fire escapearrangements!. Noise from music, bathroom in the stairs. No Bed Side Lights. this hotel is not suitable to stay in on certain nights. We did not know that we had to share the bathroom with other people, which was really odd. Climbing down three flights of stairs to reach the bathroom in the middle of the night would have been okay if we hadn't paid 100 Euros for the night. We were warned that rooms in The Castle bandb would be noisy on a Saturdaynight but were unprepared for what one other guest described to us as'the noisiest hotel in England'. There was no double glazing and youcould hear patrons smoking, drinking and shouting in the street as ifthey were in our second-floor room until after 3 am. Even on Sundaynight, noisy passers by woke us up at 1 am.A little tired in the bar area and bathroom not connected to room area. The noise.Totally impossible to sleep with disco going very loudly until 3am. Not enough toilets or bathrooms - only 2 for the whole bandb which is unacceptable for the price. No reading/bedside light. There was a DJ until 3am making it impossible to sleep. This should be stated on the website. One of the rooms smelt of sick, someone had clearly been sick on the floor and the smell was dreadful. The restaurant in the hotel was hosting a very loud party which made it impossible to get any sleep before 3am. Considering this party is hosted regularly twice a month, guests should be informed not to book on those days.noisy. All of it!. There was a party on that went on until 2am then spilled out into thestreet and did not dissipate until 3am. I got very little sleep and whenI complained next morning was told that I should have known that it wason their website. The room smelt damp. I had to share a bathroom. The hallways were dirty. It was really noisy. I did not feel terribly safe. Not ensuite, too many stairs. This was the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed at -- right above a verynoisy pub and nightclub area, so I couldn't sleep at all. You can't getbreakfast until 8.30 -- I had a meeting at 9.00 and it was a matter ofeating or being late (and I was really late as it took half an hour todeliver my breakfast). The washing facilities were unpleasant and a longway from my room.
